Yes 10 feet. Because tall people can shoot over shorter ones and are closer to the basket so they can dunk. No adays you got 7 foot guards shooting three pointers. Sometimes you get a Spud Webb or Mugsy bouges that can play at a shorter length or Earl Boykins but those guys are not covented by championship teams. Its hard to shoot over a longer armed tall person and also when they want to shoot it becomes easier. Still some shorter players can make up for lack of height with leaping ability Spud Webb won the Slam Dunk contest one year at 5' 8"

Taller people (assuming they have skill) are closer to the basket than shorter people.
As a result, they can put the ball in the hoop easier (just stand close and dump it in), they are much harder to block, they have an easier time rebounding, and they can block much more shots.
If the hoop in basketball was at the players' feet, then being tall wouldn't be an advantage. But since it's 12 feet above the ground...being as close as you can to the basket improves things.

well, some people think that the teller u get, the better u will get at b-ball.
But, thats not true.......im 5 foot in he 7th grade, and i blow some 6 foot dude away.....ezly
