I've heard in numerous places that double clutching is used during racing. To my knowledge, double-clutching is a technique used to synchronize gears in older model trucks. So, what, if any, advantages are there over regular shifting during a high performance activity such as racing??

My hubby & I have been looking for Rhino races in So Cal. Whenever we come across a date it just happened (a day ago) & we never seem to be able to find a website that has a calendar or know someone that just knows.

Anyone out there know of any rhino races coming up soon?

Im not the biggest car guy, but I love racing and rember how much fun I had goin down to the track with buddies in highschool and watch them race. I have picked a car (a 75' Monte Carlo, 350) and know were I am goin to race. Just don't know exactly what I need to do. I have lost touch with my buddies that used to race, after I joined the military. So I am kinda clueless, so if some one could tell me were I should start. What should I do to the car, and any other tips.

Like I said Im not a guru, I can turn a wrench and know the basics thats really it. Just lookin to do this for fun, lookin to race in the stock street class, and maybe get into the modified later down the road.

Any help would be appreciated

They are trying to raise awareness for environmental issues by thrashing an F1 car around that struggles to meet 4 miles per gallon, while building millions of engines every year. So they've put a picture of the Earth on their car.. What the hell is that going to proove?

I have an Audi a4 2.0t with a 6 speed automatic. Its an AWD car. I would like to know whether I should just peg the throttle or there is something else to it. Also I have the option to put it in a sport mode or shift on my own. Should I hold the shifts out to right b4 the redline or is there some other way to find the best shift points?

I kind of lost interest in NASCAR when they began messing with the bodies and making all cars fit the same templates. And I'm sure when they go to this "world car" thing I will lose interest totally. I'm a "run what ya brung" type of guy. Let the car makers design the cars and the best man wins. That being said...I didn't think Toyota would use something as antiquated as a push rod V-8 since it's a pretty high tech company. I watched the Daytona 500 and heard the announcer mention that one team was using Hendrick motors. I thought Hendrick only did Chevy motors. I also thought the car motor had to match the car make...i.e. Ford motor in a Ford...Chevy motor in a Chevy...etc. So what gives? What make of engine are the Toyotas running?

it looked like the lap would be easy to top but nobody was able to beat the time he laid down. what makes it even more awesome is Jeff was one of the first cars to qualify and all the big names cam after Jeff and none were able to beat his quick lap.
