Im not the biggest car guy, but I love racing and rember how much fun I had goin down to the track with buddies in highschool and watch them race. I have picked a car (a 75' Monte Carlo, 350) and know were I am goin to race. Just don't know exactly what I need to do. I have lost touch with my buddies that used to race, after I joined the military. So I am kinda clueless, so if some one could tell me were I should start. What should I do to the car, and any other tips.

Like I said Im not a guru, I can turn a wrench and know the basics thats really it. Just lookin to do this for fun, lookin to race in the stock street class, and maybe get into the modified later down the road.

Any help would be appreciated

it really is all reliable. I used to make thrilling of drag racing until eventually i tried it. it really is thrilling and addictive. I agree that once you ordinary strategies to diminish a reliable reaction time some thing is as a lot because the vehicle, notwithstanding it is also thrilling to track on the vehicle and watch the e.t.s drop. Oval racing is likewise thrilling, extraordinarily once you're racing in heavy site visitors. If it really is were given 4 wheels and an inner combustion engine, i am going to race it. each and each discipline has it really is own positives and negatives.

Find your local drag strip and go out on a test 'n tune night. Most people are just out to have a little fun and run their cars. You can learn a ton just by watching what other people are doing. You don't have to be a mechanical genius to be good at drag racing. Once your car is set up to run consistent E.T.s, the only thing you need to work on is your reaction time(R.T.) It blows my mind how many racers show up every weekend and cannot cut a good light. The E.T. bracket racers is usually where most people get started. You can run pretty much whatever you have and win as long as you are dead on consistent.
