Ok here's the Qs... I was wondering if you think it's ok to listen to metal bands like Lamb of God if your a Christian. I love LOG and am Christian. I justify listening to it by saying "it doesn't affect me or my beleifs I just like the music so therefore it's ok to listen to". I don't know what God thinks about it. A lot of "Christians" say it's not ok, but they listen to rap that is just as horrible and think it's ok or brush it off. I'd like to hear both Christian and non-Christian viewpoints on this, but please keep the hate comments to yourself.

Why should I believe that Jesus is the Messiah? Why not my neighbor? He contributes to charity. Seriously.

or is it more correct to say Religion is an abomination to God if it has idolatry and fornication and sorcery in it? Does this in NO WAY mean that people who BELIEVE are not Abominations?
NO.
it is speaking the word of God to a prophet and quoting what was said. but what evidence can anyone share that would prove it or disprove it.

I will be going to going to visit a Christian church tomorrow for the first time in several years, so I was hoping I could please ask some advice on what is the best way to interact and become acquainted when you are new to visiting a particular church. It would also be nice to meet some new people there if possible. I am Christian and consider myself very religious (I do try my very best to be faithful to Jesus' teachings and to be a good person). The reason I haven't been to church lately is mostly because of having bad experiences and/or not feeling accepted in the ones I have attended so far, which have been discouraging in the past. This church I will be visiting is Catholic, but I am open to all Christian denominations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm giving my boyfriend a ring for our anniversary and I want to get Philippians 1:3 engraved on the inside because I think it's a really beautiful bible verse. I'm kind of iffy about it because I can't tell if it's romantic or more about praising Christ. What do you think?

3 I thank my God every time I remember you, 4constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, 5because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. 6I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. 7It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart,* for all of you share in God’s grace* with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel. 8For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. 9And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight 10to help you

Have you ever seen a Jewish person visiting your house with his torah, persuading you that his relgion is the best one, and hoping to get you to convert? I've only seen this in Christian based faiths.
Why is this?

some people come through my life just to teach me a lesson, I'm assuming from God, why can't he just "tell" me what he wants me to know instead having to deal with certain people? And before you say this is a STUPID QUESTION, I ALREADY KNOW I ASK STUPID QUESTIONS TO YOU-BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE YOU ARE SIMPLE-MINDED, hence this question is directed to mature people who actually understand what I am trying to say...thank you very much, and for all the insults, please, I get it, I don't need the bashing one after another, but if you insist, go ahead, I still love you anyway...And to all the grammer, spellcheck bullies, kiss my a** in advance

"Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it." - Haggai 1:5-6.

Is this your sentiment? While you search for meaning in life, do you just find the whole thing meaningless? Is anything really fulfilling? Do you have any hope? Is it all just cruel?

(Sahih Bukhari 004.52.176)

"The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslems make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!'"

OK, that's not from the Koran, but it's an accepted Hadith, and it illustrates the not-so-peaceful nature of MANY Islamic teachers.

So, what is a good excuse for this CRAP?
