I'm giving my boyfriend a ring for our anniversary and I want to get Philippians 1:3 engraved on the inside because I think it's a really beautiful bible verse. I'm kind of iffy about it because I can't tell if it's romantic or more about praising Christ. What do you think?

3 I thank my God every time I remember you, 4constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, 5because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. 6I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. 7It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart,* for all of you share in God’s grace* with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel. 8For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. 9And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight 10to help you

Excellent verse. Go for it. What's wrong with praising Christ anyway? We should in all that we do... even when presenting a ring to someone.

Now. Let me ask you. Did you provide the rest of the verses to give context or is this included in how you want to present the ring? I love the whole thing. However, just that verse 3 is awesome for what you want to do.

If you take the words as they are, yes they are "romantic" but that was not what "Paul" was referring to.

It's more about praising Christ, and about the Kingdom the Heavenly Government, the Good News that He spoke about.

Lydia accepted the good news preached by Paul, was baptized, and immediately displayed hospitable qualities. “If you men have judged me to be faithful to God,” she said, “enter into my house and stay.” In fact, Paul’s traveling companion Luke wrote, “She just made us come.” (Acts 16:11-15) Perhaps at least partially due to Lydia’s hospitality, the apostle later told Philippian Christians: “I thank my God always upon every remembrance of you, because of the contribution you have made to the good news from the first day until this moment.” (Phil. 1:3-5) Yes, ‘the Lord was with the spirit shown’ by those Philippians, including faithful Lydia.

I think it's a lovely thing to engrave in the ring...the message let's him know that we u think about him you thank God for having him...that's sooo sweet..I might have 2 use this!

And that way if ever someone looks @ his ring it will say "Philippians 1:3" which will make them pull out there Bible and read it!!

I think it is great verse to engrave on a ring. It will show him that you are thanking God for Him. That is a great thing. I am sure he will love it.

Its kind of romantic. Alittle long to be engraved on a ring though.
