With all the bickering between religious extremists, their open wars and hostility towards one another, compounded by the race for religious nuclear weapons, and nation leaders willing to destroy their neighbors, how long before religious zealots have purchased us all a front row ticket to Armageddon? In a modern world, would we not be better off without a judgmental deity that tends to dehumanize non-believers of any other ideal?

What would you choose to be a symbol for Gluttony and why? I want serious answers that have to do with Christianity, something meaningful, as it is one of the "7 Deadly Sins". Please, only serious answers. I dont' want to hear any more "Rosie O'Donnel" or "overweight guy" or "fat pig". Please, those answers are ridiculous. Dont' bother if you have nothing to say. I'd rather see no answers than a bunch of ridiculous ones. Thank you.

didn't God allow us (muslims) to eat the food of the people of the books (jewish and christians) from this verse?

[5] Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibât (all kinds of Halâl (lawful) foods) and The food of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them.........
Quran 5:5

so why not eating it? and why forbid something that God has allowed it?

I ask the question earlier about how old the earth is. Creationist
say about 6000 years old. Evolutions say about 4.5 billion and
dinosaurs died off about 65 million years ago. So, if your a
creationists you would have to believe the earth is a lot older.
Also, man did not exist during the dinosaur era, so was
Adam and Eve created before or after the dinosaur era?

Surely they are conceding SOME evolution exists in nature, and they don't want to be seen as complete and total idiots now....

Are we not closely enough related to primates for creationists? Do we not have the SAME mammalian functions as every single other mammal. We are animals, we are NOT aliens to this earth as they would suggest.

another strange thing that God did to me, was 5rys when I first started to seek Gods face, It was like -40 out, very cold, I wanted to watch a sunrise outside for first time, just had to see a sunrise on like the coldest nights we had, in winter. I traveled to the lake, and as I was waiting I noticed a bright white light, like a spot lite come over me, I never looked up, just side to side. saying cool to myself, anyway I continued to watch the sunrise, and a big firery Cross came from the sun on the water most beautiful thing I saw, as the sun rose in the sky, and darkness started to die. then the lord God spoke to me and said seek my face, and hence I've being seeking for his will. Its good to go over things to strenthen your faith, to keep trusting in God with your seek. has this ever happened to anyone? Its been A dry river lately. sorry for spelling and gramer. no spell chk on this stupid thing.

(I asked this question in anothe category, but no one answered.)

For those who don't know the story, a woman died after drinking too much water trying to win a Wii. The radio station who hosted the contest is being sued for hosting the contest, encouraging her, and knowing the risks (I believe she was warned as well, and signed a waiver).

So, who holds more responsibility for her death? The woman for choosing to drink too much water, or the radio station for encouraging her?

Also food for thought: If you offered someone $20 to ski down a dangerous ski run, and they died doing so...are you responsibile for their death? How is this scenario any different?

If you were not a christian, how do you think you would feel about homosexuality?
do you think that you would still feel that it was generally "wrong" or do you think that you wouldn't have any particular problem with it?
and what would be your thoughts on gay marriage in that situation?

please, no copping out- convince me why you would think that it is bad
pretend i am a fellow unbeliever and i am astounded that you have ANY problem with homosexuality. how would you try to make me understand your point of view?
