He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due? His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth. But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.
Isaiah 53:3-12

Do you think prayer in schools would help?
when I was in school we started each day with a prayer by the principal over the intercom and the pledge of allegiance to the flag now neither is done and things are getting worse all the time would this help at all

for those against it why should one group have their way where are the rights of the kids who want to start the day this way no it doesn't cure all but it is a positive note in which to start each day it's not required to participate. Just a prayer for peace and safety after all in todays schools it may be the last comforting thing they hear. Too much violence and killings in schools

Ok my Jewish people reject Messiah Jesus, -why not change the bible?

My Jewish people still have the perfect picture of Messiah Jesus in our scriptures-If God would allow it to be messed with that is the first change that would come-remove Messianic prophecy that points perfect to Jesus.

Micah 5:1&2 "Out of bethlehem will come this one from Eternity.

Isaiah 7:14 "A virgin will have a sign/miracle and will bring forth God with us.

Isaiah 9:6 "Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and he will be the prince of peace, God almighty, the everlasting father, and the wonderfull counselor."

only Jesus said I and my father are one, and if you have seen me you have seen the father.

Isaiah 52:13-53vs12 He will be exaulted, but first marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected of our Jewish people. He will lay down his life as a lamb to make atonement for our sins."
Jesus is my personal savior&friend now!true
why didnt God alow them to change the prophecies?

It is a cop out. It is for people who realise the absurdity of rejecting evolution but who still want to cling to their cherished belief in a deity. It is founded on sentiment not evidence. The fact of evolution is as proven as anything in science ever can be by an overwhelming amount of evidence-the theory of evolution by natural selection is challenged by no other competing theory. There is no place for theistic evolution, intelligent design or creationism-they're rubbish and there is no need for them to be taken seriously.

How exactly are you supposed to interpret Revelations? I have always pondered that. Is everything that is written supposed to be literally taken or is it all symbolic? For example, are Angels really going to come down from heaven and blow on their trumpets or is it supposed to be taken in another sense?
And all of you atheists. Please save your typing for another question. Please don't bore me with your ridiculous comments.

People are so quick to blame God for destruction and unexplained deaths, but not when anything good happens. People have free will and noone wants to believe that people that hurt innocent people are to blame, if that person was following what God believe then they wouldnt kill or rape etc...My question is i guess the ones that dont believe in Christ why are you so quick to blame him? And the fact that those same unbelievers put Christ to death, so who is at fault? God let you choose and thats what you did with it. wouldnt you rather have someone love you becuz of you, even if they didnt fully understand you that to force them to love you?

Imagine God is in his heaven. He is not a bearded old man in robes. He is a vaguely humanoid blur, like a stick figure drawn in charcoal and then smudged around the edges. God created the world and mankind, but now he doesn't know what to do with them. In short: God is bored. To relieve the tedium of watching mankind to-ing and fro-ing down on Earth, God decides to raise the stakes. He doesn't actually want to destroy the world because a) he made an informal agreement with Noah after the flood and b) he is actually quite fond of mankind. What he does to pass the time is play a game. The kind of game we all play when we're bored; we walk home without stepping on the cracks of the pavement, or we urge one raindrop to beat the other in a race down a windowpane. Every day when God wakes up and gets out of his celestial bed, he plays a game. Because he is not a natural risk-taker, he makes little bets with himself that he is pretty darn sure he will win. Here is an example of a week of God's bets. They are jotted down in a small Rymans notepad by his bedside. Monday: If no one on Earth says the word 'cattle', I will destroy the world. Tuesday: If no one in Europe claps his or her hands today, I shall sink Europe into the sea. Wednesday: If anyone in America uses the phrase 'Serbo-Croat Lilliput Crayfish' I will give that individual apocalyptic power. Thursday: If fewer than 1000 Twix bars are sold in England, I will destroy England. Friday: If no one in Africa gets drunk today, I will destroy Africa and alcohol. Saturday: If Colorado beats New York by more than 25 runs, I will disappear and leave mankind to its own devices. Sunday: If anyone in London reads every word printed in every single page of the Sunday paper. I will abolish language. As you see, they are all bets that are unlikely to disrupt the status quo of the world, as they are all unlikely to happen. But they keep God occupied. Some scholars have said that as time passes God will get increasingly bored and start playing riskier games - and so terrible events are far more likely to happen. Which is why, as you pass your time on Earth, it is always worth keeping your fingers crossed.

Does that mean you believe that God is a prankster that placed all the evidence that makes it such a consistent & scientifically logical explanation for the way the living world is as some kind of a "joke" to mislead non-Christians who have a lot of common sense? Or do you believe the "devil" is so powerful he was able to do that?

Restoration Movement Churches (churches that typically use the name "Christian Church" or "Church of Christ") have several things in common with Mormonism:
They both teach that one must be baptized in water for salvation.
They both teach that only baptism by full immersion is valid.
They both take the Lord's Supper every week.
They both teach that the "true Gospel" or apostolic teachings were lost/abandoned and had to be "restored".
etc.

What is the link between these two groups?
I have heard that Sidney Rigdon was a Church of Christ pastor who left to follow Joseph Smith. Any insight?

Only problem is now I feel as though almost everyone says that my baptism did not count. It did count. I can tell that most of you are not of the Methodist church. Over half said that I do need to get re-baptized. I think that the best answer so far said that you didn't need to be baptized to get into heaven. Just believe in him. Which I do truely believe. Sometimes I wonder if I believe and love him enough? Sometimes I wonder if I am praying correctly? Sometimes I wonder if I were to die today would I go? I have asked for forgiveness. How do I know that he forgives? I am not one who can go before a whole congregation and confess my sins. He made me like this. I think he understands me. I hope my heart is correct.
