Only problem is now I feel as though almost everyone says that my baptism did not count. It did count. I can tell that most of you are not of the Methodist church. Over half said that I do need to get re-baptized. I think that the best answer so far said that you didn't need to be baptized to get into heaven. Just believe in him. Which I do truely believe. Sometimes I wonder if I believe and love him enough? Sometimes I wonder if I am praying correctly? Sometimes I wonder if I were to die today would I go? I have asked for forgiveness. How do I know that he forgives? I am not one who can go before a whole congregation and confess my sins. He made me like this. I think he understands me. I hope my heart is correct.

I didn't see your first question or the answers, however, when I read your struggles I felt I had to answer this one.

First, baptism is not what gets you into heaven. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. You said you have confessed your sins and believe with your heart, that is all that is needed to get to heaven.

Baptism is just an outward expression of an inward decision. I'm not saying that it's not important because it is - one reason is to let others know about the decision you have made to trust in Christ, another is to let others pray for you, counsel you in your Christian walk and growth, and also hold each other accountable.

Second, regarding the struggles and doubts, this is normal for a new Christian as Satan wants nothing more than to make you doubt your decisions and God's love for you.

Third, it is imperative that you become part of a group of believers that you can relate with, a Sunday School class, Bible Study group, evening prayer group or something along this line. They will be able to help you with your doubts, plus the more you learn about the Bible, the more you will be able to defeat Satan in his attacks against you.

I will be praying for you.

In Christ's Love.

I'm with you, I'm not getting in front of my church and confessing my sins, but luckily, my church doesn't expect me to. If it did, I'd most likely be going to a different church.

Do you really think salvation is based on a church function? I'm sorry, but I don't believe that for a moment. The thief on the cross was told by Jesus he'd be in heaven with Him, and that guy was not baptized. We are to confess, but where exactly does the bible tell us we have to confess to other people? I believe the point is to confess to God, no one else. Salvation is a personal thing, it doesn't involve anyone but us and God.

Everyone goes thru down times in their faith, we all have times we just don't feel we're doing it right, at least I do. Actually, its all very simple, which is what seems to throw me. I keep thinking we have to perform rituals, like some people obviously are telling you, and salvation is not about rituals. We are judged independently by Jesus, so tell me, do you think Jesus will keep you out of heaven if you truly love Him because you didn't confess your sins in front of a church congegation? Sounds kinda silly, doesn't it?

In biblical times there were pharasee's, and there still are. These people go by the man-made laws of their respective churches and attempt to judge others. Sometimes organized religion can be the biggest downfall of christianity.

How do you know you are forgiven?

The Bible says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)

To know if you have eternal life, look at the things written in God's word.

So what does God's word say about baptism?

Jesus said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:16)

Some may tell you, He that balieves and is saved shall be baptized.

This is not the same thing Jesus said! This is not in the same order.

Jesus put belief, and then baptism, in order to be saved.

If Jesus had meant "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved", what would he have said? I believe he said what he meant and meant what he said. I BELIEVE JESUS! Do you?

Jesus a;so said, "He that believes not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16).

How can you say you believe Jesus if you will not accept His word?

You mentioned your concern regarding God forgiveness.

Check this:
Psalm 103:12-14

As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset,
So far off from us he has put our transgressions.

As a father shows mercy to his sons,
Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him.

For he himself well knows the formation of us,
Remembering that we are dust

Yes, you have to take baptism twice.
First is baptism with the water of God's teachings to be pure in heart.
Second is baptism with the fire of His love in order that you can sacrify all for your neighbour.
Otherwise you cannot enter His heaven.
