How would the light have reached us?”

Since God made the sun, moon, and stars “to give light upon the earth” (Genesis 1:14–18), those lights would be immediately visible on earth. They fulfilled their purpose on the day God spoke them into being, because He “saw that it was good.” No doubt God also made Adam as a fully-grown man—perhaps with the appearance of being 30 years old, even though he was only minutes old. Likewise, herbs and trees were already mature and fruit-bearing, to provide a ready supply of food. That would be the case with all of His creation.

if He is as powerful as the Bible says, shouldn't it take Him just a blink of an eye to make those things happen?

shouldn't His processor be a bazillion times greater than a Dual Core Processor to think of how He wants the world to be?

The Bible has many seeming contradictions within its pages. For example, the four Gospels give four differing accounts as to what was written on the sign that hung on the cross. Matthew said, “This is Jesus the King of the Jews” (27:37). However, Mark contradicts that with “The King of the Jews” (15:26). Luke says something different: “This is the King of the Jews” (23:38), and John maintains that the sign said “Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews” (19:19).

Those who are looking for contradictions may therefore say, “See—the Bible is full of mistakes!” and choose to reject it entirely as being untrustworthy. However, those who trust God have no problem harmonizing the Gospels. There is no contradiction if the sign simply said, “This is Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews.”

I see the Bible as a sort of map for people who get 'lost.' I have a hard time believing the Bible b/c it IS a MAN MADE item, there are many contradicitons, and there are so many different versions of the Bible, who's to say which one is right? It's similar to the telephone game. It may have been correct in the beginning, but after so many translations/versions, the ending message is NOT the same as the message to begin with.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I want references in the bible, telling me when you think the rapture is including:

1) No rapture
2) pre-tribulation rapture
3) pre-wrath rapture, and
4) post-tribulation rapture

I know the word rapture isn't in the Bible, but think past the latin verbage and tell me about your version.

I just want to study it for myself and come to my own conclusions about it.

Thanks and God Bless

JETT

What would you do if a couple of well meaning Christians knocked on your door to witness and had the New Testament for you and asked you if you wanted to be saved. I mean would you talk to them and get saved or would you turn down the word of God?

Why USA a predominantly christian population is the biggest polluter in the world? Why does it's foreign policy stink? It is afterall a democracy and these majority christians vote these governments in who screw the rest of the world for the USA's material gains! They literally rape the world of it's resources with their greed (An american uses 4 times as much energy as anyone else on the planet) and then give bits and pieces to poor people in the name of christian missions to create more misguided people who think they are very charitable!
Is your christian guilt on vacation when you vote the US govt. in with full information of their portfolios?

I guess it's what you'd expect from a religion founded by lusty king. The Church of England now condones baby killing.

Jesus is the One who said that He is the only way to the Father. For Christians to say that there are other ways to find peace with God is to bear false testimony. In one sweeping statement, Jesus discards all other religions as a means of finding forgiveness of sins. This agrees with other Scriptures: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12), and "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).

"Judge not lest you be judged. You therefore have no right to judge me when it comes to my sins!"

The world often takes this verse out of context and uses it to accuse Christians of being "judgmental" when they speak of sin. In the context of the verse Jesus is telling His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

During the past several months, conveniently coincidental or sometimes just inexplicable things keep on happening. Some of them are very nice, like many events turning to my favor, or acts of mercy that I truly don't deserve. Others are mischievious. Things will go missing, and after searching relentlessly for them, will appear on my counter. I can't remember all the odd things that have happened to me, but after finding my remote today, I just feel compelled to ask "Why?"
So does anyone think they have an answer?
