Oh please!, salman rushdie a muslim?. So these are the ones you label as moderate muslims, then i guess theres no hope!- evry single muslim is gonna look extremist to you if you look at it that way!.You cant be a muslim just by callin yourself one when you go around trying to discredit islam!.But islam is the religion that will have the final success no matter what! because Allah supports the believers.
If Salman Rushdies' a muslim, so is Bush!.

I haven't heard of Fallaci, but Rushdie, well I am sure he hates being a Muslim otherwise he would not make such statements or writings. I bet he either adores distorting Islam or was paid to do so.
I bet U R not a Muslim too, but like to mock Sistani. Has the man stepped on your toes? Hatred hurts the hater.

Salman Rushdie again belongs to [a] category similar [to] Taslima Nasreen. He has even slandered the Prophet, he has slandered the wives of the Prophet. And if you read that book “Satanic Verses”, he has made several derogatory remarks against Islam and against the Prophet, which has infuriated the people.
There is no doubt that the remarks [were] made [about] the Prophet. Naturally [Rushdie] changes the names and he makes several derogatory remarks about the Prophet and his wife, but regarding the harm that he has caused, there was a reaction from the Muslim Ummah, but I took it [in] a positive way.
DOUBLE STANDARDS:
Did you know In his book Salman rushdie used the 4 letter word *Father Uncle Cousin King* for queen of england. he even dreamed of *Father Uncle Cousin King - ING* her.
Yet not even a single one of those thousand will raise an eye brown in defending Rouke's right to use just a four-letter word even once. Not against Mrs. Thatcher in person but against her economic Policies. Their hypocrisy is unbearable!
What was that "four-letter" word which roused such fury and ire among a people reputed for their calm, placid, sagacity? It is downright silly to beat around the bush. That emotive word is *Father Uncle Cousin King*! Because of this single four-letter word, Lady Chatterley-s Lover was banned in South Africa for twenty years! Even the dullest of the English-speaking people conjure up the word "*Father Uncle Cousin King*", when the expression "four-letter" is used.
The word was so abusive thats y i use *Father Uncle Cousin King* I hope u understand wht does this means.
And you call them moderate muslim?

Islam is not publishing new versions of Quran like Bible. So there is nothin like "moderate muslims" we have been in a moderate life since the beginning of our Muslim lives. Salman Rushdie claims himself as hindu but i know he is a racist and of course not a Muslim.
i like to read Oriana Fallaci.

Theres no such thing as moderate Islam.
Islam is everything that is moderate anyway...
can you have moderacy of moderacy? lol
Well, am sure those who think beheading a trialed cold blooded murderer is no where near moderacy, will laugh at my words, but theres nothing moderate about filling jails with cold blooded murderers and then not knowing what to do with the increase in crime rate.
Try beheading one or two people in public and lets see how many murders are actually gonna take place afterwards.
Like I always say: I can go upto an ATM machine in the middle of the night in saudi arabia in full confidence, can you do that where you live?

Rushdie is a good writer. but no muslim has ever thought why he wrote Satanic Verses. to the best of my knowledge he had read qur'aan and understood it in his own way. now if islam does not like people interpreting thier holy book, then they should take back all the qur'aan with people, so that people remain ignorant and do not insulrt islam. that way every thing is safe.
moderates in any society is targetted by the headless, pea-brained fundamentalists. these fundamentalists are a threat to mankind. they are present in every religion. that is a fact.
here too i find lot of people whose understandng of religion is very poor. i'm sure they have not understood even one word of their holy book. they all of them as masters of religion of which they are slaves.

You call them moderate Muslim because they tell you what you want to hear about Islam, the rest of Muslims are fundamentalists for you, but (at least for Selman) they are not Muslim at all
