I have Creed's greatest hits and I tell you, the sound of it is as Liquid Rock as they call it....

But, the lyrics seem to glorify the means of following a higher power, yes.....

Consider this......

One last breath (Calling out to God before one dies)..... Weathered (is talking about the body)..... My own prison (is talking about the body imprisoned for bad decisions and in the face of men's judgement.. He calls out to God... Knowing what he has done... something he created.."my own prison"..)..... What's this life for... ((talking about the gist of living life and the unknown))....... What If... ((speaks of the pride of men and how they will fall for it)).......

Especially Higher..... ((talks about reaching heaven))

((I hardly listen to ColdPlay so I cannot give info there....))

PS: Creed never associated itself as a Christian band... it was a brand given them because of the lyrics displayed......

It just all depends on the lyrics and if you let it corrupt your mind. I threw away my old Motley Crue music because of the lyrics and that they had the mark of the beast on their albums. If songs have a happy tune and they don't put you in a mood of anger or anything or thinking bad thoughts, they are ok to listen to. I still listen to songs from the 1970"s and early 1980's. These are the songs I grew up listening to and they make me happy. There is no verse in the Bible that I know of that says we are not to enjoy good music, however there is one in
Colossians 3:16 that says " Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord"
I took this as listening to songs that praise God, but I also feel that God lets us enjoy life too as long as we are not sinning and being corrupt and wicked. If you pray and ask God, you will know, as your mind will tell you.

i grew to become into going to declare George Harrison! confident his music "My candy lord" bares a extraordinary resemblance to "he's so advantageous" via the Chiffons, yet is that rather this type of vast deal? First, the score that grew to become into supposedly copied grew to become into like 5 notes long, and that i've got considered that in the time of different songs to boot. i admire the two a style of songs, yet Harrison's music is my well-liked. i do no longer understand why... possibly it particularly is the rhythm or melody? He took a competent music and made it greater desirable. good artists reproduction, great artists scouse borrow. My learn makes me have confidence that the lawsuit wasn't so undesirable, so i grew to become into happy approximately that. The songs are comparable, yet i understand many songs that sound resembling others that have been in no way categorized as copyright infringement.

It sounds like your heart is being convicted of these things. I think you should pray about them and if you still feel guilty, then you are probably being asked to give them up. There is no universal answer to this. What may be right for others is not necessarily right for you.

Music can also be just that ... music, and nothing more, with no symbolism or hidden meanings involved. Not everything in your life has to be in direct tribute to the god you worship. Your bible tells you to rejoice in song.
