There have been many religions and many Gods throughout time. So since the bible clearly states that if you believe in false gods you go to hell, but those that never heard of religion are forgiven. Then wouldn't it be better never to have heard of any religion and aren't preists actually causing people to go to hell then? Hmmmmm.

It says if someone prophesies something and it doesn't take place,
he is a false prophet. But is also says, if someone prophesies
something and it DOES take place. But his conversation is wrong,
don't listen to him.
I have studied this stuff carefully. Symbology is the Universal language. And it is never wrong. It's the way it's interpreted that makes the mistakes.
The Apostle Paul said, "Prophecies will FAIL. Because we aren't
perfect. And we're like looking through a glass." Galatians I think.

is because God wants us to love him as we love our children? Think about it, you would not want your child to call someone else father......when a child does wrong you must discipline them even if it hurts........kind of an answer of why bad things happen in the world, God gave us free will. to do good or bad. and how do we know the tough times we go through are really God testing our faith?

Thousands have died in Iraq to date, no one is sure how many, 100 Americans this month and many more Iraqis. Many thousands since the beginning of the war. If God loves his children he surely shows it in an unual manner, Doesn't he?

I joined the group of people in this country who have been reported and I could not send a return message. The question was do I think a ghosts can answer questions? I am not putting down the one who asked the question-but really! My answer was Boo Who! So I will explain this in simple terms-It depends on the ghost involved! I believe that we have a SPIRT while we are living in a body and after we are out of our body as well! Other people can believe whatever they chose! I have been close to death myself but that does in no way stop my thinking process!

I am an Atheist and I was asked to help out for a fundraiser they are holding for Homeless and drug addicted teens. I really want to help out since I was raised in a group home and I know how it feels not to have anywhere to go. The problem is one fellow has taken it upon himself to "save" me, He lectures me about Jesus Christ and God all day, I have told him that I'm fine with his religion I just do not believe in a higher power. He seems to become angry and frustrated with me and I end up being paired with someone else in the group. Everyone else is fine they are happy that I am helping, Even though he requested I be paired with someone else he still makes it clear to me that I should convert and convert NOW. I still want to help because I believe this is important, I stand out in the snow for 8-9 hours collecting money for these kids. I just need some insight as to what I may say or do to make him give me some space about the issue and physically. Thanks.

It would be like having a girlfriend who is with you for your money? I think God loves those who have faith no matter what religion. remember when God created man he didi not create many religions...we are all from the same place.....I cannot believe that a faithful person can kill another person in the name of God, when the person they killed believes in the same God....ie jewish, christian, or muslim we all believe in God.

If we're born in a Muslim family and didn't question, we would be CERTAIN that the Koran was 100% correct and Islam was the truth. When we're in a Christian society/family and taught similarly, we are CONVINCED that Christianity is true. Some Muslims are SO sure that they willingly blow themselves up. If that's not faith, then I don't know what it is. But faith doesn't change reality. So who's right?

I've heard this frequently this time of year, so much that it gets in the news about schools cancelling Halloween, people having Hell Houses instead of Haunted Houses, and churches having religious alternatives to Halloween parties. I've heard lots of devout Christians say they consider Halloween evil, demonic, and "the Devil's holiday", but never any real answer as to why.

I can't see anything satanic about Halloween myself, even went trick-or-treating as a kid back when I was still a Lutheran. Actually, I seem to recall my church having halloween parties for us kids with games and pinatas sort of thing.

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this without using "it's the Devil's holiday" or that it's a Pagan holiday? Just because it's derived from a non-Christian religion, doesn't mean it's an "evil" holiday, so that's not a good enough answer.

Bible quotations are welcome so I can look them up for cross-referencing. And please be respectful! I look forward to your answers. :)

This was written earlier this morning. Talk about holier than thou. How does it make you feel? Is it any wonder that so many atheists are ex-Christians?

"Fellow Christians!!! isn't it time to impose God's Eternal Laws?
Fake-Christians try to nullify laws eternally given by Jesus in Old Testament. Jesus broadened the Laws in the New Covenant--never nullified them. He was even stricter and said that our righteousness must surpass the Heathen Jews.He clearly said in John 10:35 that the Laws cannot be changed. But nowadays the Devil deceived a lots of Christians to think that they are above the Law and needn't impose them."

Humans chose the 4 gospels from a set of other interpretations that were different. And then Saul of Tarsus's (Paul) writings to the early christian communities were included because he was a powerful personality. Things like the gnostic gospels were dismissed because they didn't tell people what they wanted to hear. We see this over and over again today, even with the internet. So ... how do we KNOW that the bible is the word of God?

Even though not following what some people are following, should that be a problem when a church ( a small caring church) needs voluntary help to perform a needed social function?.

Conversely would the same response be expected for someone following a religion who wants to help out an atheist group who do equally socially responsible things ?.
