Hi there, no it is quite correct to do so, Jesus,( God made man), took his humanity (flesh) from Mary, and so in his humanity is the Son of Mary, this is about the only thing the Koran has got right about Jesus, remember that He is only regarded as a holy prophet in that book and not as He actually is, the Christ, only Son of God,and Saviour.

No, his name was Jesus, son of Mary distinguishes him from other Jesus's, and the Messiah would be wrong only if you didn't beleive him to be so.

It's OK as far as it goes. Christians know that he is also God ... King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
