The pope is a very busy man. For all you know, he's not sitting on his behind all day, twiddling his thumbs. He could be trying to find a way to keep this from happening again. Just because he doesn't come out and say sorry doesn't mean the thinks it's ok. You have this view that the pope and all of the Catholic peoples are just pedophiles and evil. For something that came out recently (in the past ten years is recent) it takes time to change. And Pope Benidict has to pick up where John Paul II left off. It's not easy! Give the guy a break. NO one is willing to give him a chance.

Pope John Paul II did give a public apology to the victims and their families. He could not meet with each person individually because many haven't come forth about it, some have forgiven the priests and moved on with their lives, some are still hurt by it and refuse to meet with church authorities. And how would he have traveled to each city to meet each person or have them travel to the Vatican? He did the one thing he could have done and made a public apology to them and all others.
Priests did hide their sins from other priests, from others in the church. What sexual abuser is going to abuse a child and go tell someone what they did? They hid because they knew it was wrong. All sinners hid their sins. But they could not, ever, hid it from God. It's very sad that many priests abused many children. My high school boyfriend and his brother were molested and his brother committed suicide because of it. My ex BF forgave the priest after 28 years & moved on with his life. Just like so many other victims of abuse. I am not at all trying to justify what these priests did but there are abusers inside all religions and among all non-believing communities. Child molestors are sick people and need to be stopped and need help and need to be locked up forever. Many say that they will do it again if given the chance. And parents need to watch for warning signs. Children always give warning signs. And remember, many children told their parent and their parent choose not to believe them.
WE NEED TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN AT ALL COSTS! and learn to forgive. God will give them their just punishment.

Probably the same reason that they have not apologized for the thousands of women that they tortured and killed during the Burning Times.
I have heard rumors that they have actually apologized. If anyone knows proof that they have I would love to hear it.
Blessings

Probably thinks its a personal thing, rather than part of the conglomerate.
Maybe he knows that if he publicly apologises for all the man-boy interfacing then the even worse stories will start to come out.
Keeping the man-boy stuff alive is the lesser of his evils ?.

The pope hasn't hidden anything. He has nothng for which to apologize.

where have you been?! even I, who;s been working19 hours a day had the time to see his statement/apology to the victims....
you may want to keep up with the news instead of just asking questions to try and stir up hate for the Catholics.

The Catholic church is a non-Christian cult. The teach that Mary was sinless, but God's Word says ALL have sinned.
That is but one example of the way the Catholic church twists and distorts God's Word.

No Catholic would ever need apologise for such evil crimes, as wrong doings demand forgiveness from the victim.
It is for the victims to forgive the fondling clergy, else they are in the wrong - this is the greatest misinterpretation of scripture in history, and it allows such people to get away with, literally, murder.

He did apologize,....which is more than muslims have done for murdering millions of people. That is because they are not sorry....if I was the pope, i would take back my apology.
