What are you afraid of, seriously? That your kids will learn to think for themselves? I thought god gave us free will, but I guess not for your child's thoughts. If evolution is “pseudoscience (false),” why do you fear that your kids will be that gullible to fall for it? Do you consider yourself a deadbeat parent that can’t teach your kids right and they’ll go buy into anything some stranger tells them? Do you think your kids are stupid or something? Or are you afraid that they’ll actually not sound ignorant in front of evolutionists by saying that the evolutionists think “we come from monkeys” or that “we’ve never seen a dog give birth to a fish”? If anything, it would make your kids critique evolution in educated terms. Personally, if my kids wanted to learn about religion, I'd have no problem at all with doing so.

(Oh, and by the way, even if you reject macro-evolution, you still have to teach micro-evolution, which means Darwin had to be right at least on half of it.)

I just asked a question about Christians thinking everyone else is Atheist and I still got an answer saying that I don't believe in God?? Can you please think a little bit before you answer??? That was the question, why do I not believe in GOD just because I am not Christian? Shows you that they do have thick heads and little brains.

do you think it's normal to not want to be born ever again. i'm not talking about the fear of the judgement day or the whole karma thing. i just don't want to be born again 'cause i've just about had it with everything that's going on in the world & no matter how happy i'd be, i never ignore the pain and struggle of other people and it makes me depressed 'cause sometimes there's nothing you can do.

thanks

I was born and raised from a Christian mother. I've always wondered why Christians believe in the bible so deeply when Jews wrote it. Right? To this day, Jews believe another completely different religion than Christians. Tell me why, would you believe in a book that the people who wrote it don't even believe??? I'm not against God, just confused about the Christian religion.

Just because you are not Christian, does not mean you are Atheist. How about you guys get that through your thick heads and little brains? If you had brains, you would use them and quit letting a fictional book from ancient ages that is not even translated correctly rule your life.

To Catholic. I'm reading or singing the responsorial psalm this end of month.. i need a tune. I don't have the time to create my own tune so i'm looking for a tune and just put in the words. How should i sing it? My aunt (Sister Caren) ask me not to sing it in a slow tune, because its a joy mass for her. Is there any web that i can look into to look for tunes?

That which you have been given is but a fleeting comfort of this life. Better and more enduring is that which Allah has for those who believe and put their trust in Him; who avoid gross sins and indecencies and, when angered, are willing to forgive; who obey their Lord, attend to their prayers, and conduct their affairs by mutual consent; who bestow in alms a part of that which We have given them and, when oppressed, seek to redress their wrongs. [Al-Qur'an, Sura: 42 (Ash-Shura), Ayat: 36-39]

I think that they are completely separate. Knowing implies certainty. I can believe something for which I have little evidence but not know it to be true. Belief depends on actions by a human being. It does no use to "believe" something unless you can act or must act in such a way as to follow the consequences of a belief. For that reason, I could believe something; but not know it to be true. I am an agnostic atheist. I don't believe God exists -- but -- I don't know that he is non-existent for sure.

One could argue that belief is involuntary. If one reads many books and "doesn't believe" a certain proposition, his belief may be irrespective of his personal choice. For instance, if I read several books explaining gravity and then I "grasp the concept" by seeing a falling object; I may not have the ability to "choose not to believe" in gravity. Similarly, one could argue that he is unable to "choose to believe" in Jesus or God because it is outside of his control. Perhaps he's read all he can read and prayed all he can pray -- and he can't choose to believe.

There for Christians should not get to celebrate Christmas because they stole it.

So i submit to you the Y! answers community that they should not get to celebrate it!

I recently came across a terrible rumor spread by a man whose last name was Chick I belive. He's appearently been telling people for years that ancient druids would visit door to door in midevil europe, trying to find a royal virgin to rape and sacrifice, and that those who let them in where left with carved pumpkins containing a candle made of human fat, and this is where the TRUE trick or treat tradition of Halloween came from. It was so full in inacurricies it was funny, and I was wondering if anyone had an even sillier rumor.

Please note: This is a Pagan friendly question, and I WILL report any abuse. That said funny rumor time.

the bible has been passed down from generation to generation...been edited here and there... a lot of tyrant and power hungry popes have been in hold of that power for quite a lot of time. They may have re-written it or edited some parts of it. Tell me in your most wisest answer what you think about it?
