I'm technically a member of the Mormon (LDS) church, but I'm hardly active in it. I like some of the Mormon standards (no smoking, no drinking), but I've been very interested in the Catholic faith ever since I was a young child, long before I was ever a member of the Mormon church. There is just something about the spiritualism, tradition and symbolism of the Catholic church that I love, and that I don't get from the Mormon church. Which church should I go for?

Would someone care to provide references to support this assertion? Allegedly, it was found on Mount Ararat in modern day Turkey. Last I had heard, there is a boat shaped black spot on it but that detailed imaging from space had ruled out the boat theory. So, does anyone have information from reputable sources on this topic?

OK, all you god fearing people out there. Here you go.
If God exists, any God, not just Christian God, and you know its a fact. Prove it. Give me one peice of tangible evidence that he is real. Not circumstantial evidence. NO Bible verses. I dont believe in the Bible as fact so that wont work, if you bring out scripture I will ignore it. Written words mean nothing if there is no proof to back up the words. I need something I can see, something I can hold in my hand, something I can witness with my own eyes. Something that a court of law would accept as evidence.
If you were a lwayer, arguing to a judge, give me the evidence you would give the Judge that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that god exsists. No spritual BS, something real. Something that will make someone who has NEVER believed, believe.
Get my point? SOMETHING REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You cant. There is nothing

I just read that in 2000, Governor George W. Bush signed a memorandum proclaiming June 10th to be "Jesus Day" in Texas, a day that "challenges people to follow Christ's example by performing good works in their communities and neighborhoods."

What are your thoughts on this?

For many years I have wondered why there are so many movies and stories in the news that seem to glibly portray Christians in a demeaning and unflattering light. I am not suggesting that some Christians haven't been involved in illegal or immoral activities, but it seems I see alot of ad-hominum attacks which attempt to portray all Christians as stupid which is surprising in our modern society which seems to be trying to be more tolerant. Do you agree or disagree?

there are questions we can know a for sure answer is correct, and hopefully the one who actually does not know does not answer. There are opinions and interpretations and for a good unified witness . My opinion is that we can state this is my opinion or in my experience or I heard that or this is my feeling, rather than stating a thought as a fact. When we give conflicting answers it is not because the Bible has contradictions it is bcuz we have not studied.
lets try to send out a more unified response and if it is just something you heard say I heard this, but what would be helpful is to have a concordance handy and tell it like it is written
please no glib comments from the pugnacious crowd this is an inter office memo

If god truly exists, and provides a way for all people to learn of him and worship him, why do people still require a bible to be a Christian, and a Quaran to be Muslim? Shouldn't true belief be internal, and not come from a book or the teachings of another person? Wouldn't god provide a way for you to know him without a book or a church?

Isn't it amazing that this mighty and legendary king left no evidence of his existence? Or, evidence of his mighty empire?

From Wikipedia:

"Secular evidence about a historical figure comparable to Solomon, reported independently from the religious accounts, seems scarce and so far no substantial evidence has been found. Various inscriptions have been found and excavations are continuing."

Why do we have to participate in his idea of "life" where we have to struggle for umpteen years then face the possibility of going to Hell? We should be able to quit the whole shebang if we want, right?

You have chosen to set yourself along side a manuscript that has bred generations of frustration confusion war and hate-You BELIEVER-have placed yourself into a catagorical philosophy that distinguishes you as being different and better by choosing to side with the religion that you follow-You automatically prejudice those that do not follow your beliefs-and in most cases demand submission or dictate condemnation. HOW SO you ask-because you have aligned yourself with an enterprise and an organization that will have you conform to their ways and means-accept their values or be cast out and disgraced by those you have decided to join in alliance-and for what? So you can speak to the world that YOU ARE SAVED-thereby readily condeming those that do not accept your STRUCTURED Manifest-a manuscript that is so full of HOLES it is no wonder that THE WORD OF GOD IS CONSIDERED Holy! What a shame and shame on you for being a coward to the reality of LIFE which is that we have this one chance!!!

I am not a Christian, but I have a few Christian friends. When I asked them if they believe I am doomed to an eternity in hell because I am a Pagan, they say that one's choice of religion doesn't get someone into Heaven. They agree that if you lead a good life and genuinely try to be a good person, then you'll go to Heaven. Does that make sense to you? Do you agree? Why or why not? Please elaborate.

i'm not an anti-religious person, but I am curious about this, do you think Jesus's fate was easier for him to accept because he knew he was the son of God?

BONUS QUESTION:

Is it easier to accept your fate of getting nailed to a cross if you knew it was for something as important as the Salvation of all man?

It seems that for that big a hookup for mankind (and it was a hookup guaranteed by God) most people would submit to the torture. Nobody is that selfish not to.
