i'm not an anti-religious person, but I am curious about this, do you think Jesus's fate was easier for him to accept because he knew he was the son of God?

BONUS QUESTION:

Is it easier to accept your fate of getting nailed to a cross if you knew it was for something as important as the Salvation of all man?

It seems that for that big a hookup for mankind (and it was a hookup guaranteed by God) most people would submit to the torture. Nobody is that selfish not to.

PREACHER: yeah he took on all the sin, but does that even matter since he was the son of God and had a hookup to ascend to heaven?

SANDY: I am not trying to discount it, all I'm wondering is that if given the legitimate opportunity, is there a person who would turn down the opportunity for mankind's salvation in that way?

I mean nobody wants to die on a cross for nothing, but for the ultimate salvation of mankind? And did he even have to have faith since he KNEW he was the son of God?

He went into it knowing it would be horrible but he also knew that after he expired he would go to heaven. He was the son of God afterall.

It was not easy for Jesus to die on the cross, but obedience to the Father, God, was enough to motivate Him. Of course knowing that many people would be saved from a burning hell also helped. It was still much more that the physical pain, it was mental anguish to have the sins of the world put on you, when you had never sinned.

No, not when you have to take on the entire sin of the world for all time, and you must experience it through the body of a man. Only Jesus could do this because he was and is 100% man and 100% God at the same time.

Jesus was not fated. He had a choice--as evidenced by his prayers in the garden at Gethsemane.

Was it easy for God, who is perfect, to submit to torture and crucifixion at the hands of those unworthy to touch his shoes? Was it easy for God, as God and man, to look forward to scourging and crucifixion and taunting by those whose hearts were ugly?

Ask him. See what he tells you.

The thing is, the salvation of humankind was not especially "important." It was only important because God loves us. There is nothing holy, worthy, or innately good about humanity--and so saving duplicitous, faithless, cruel people was only important because of God's love.

People are so selfish as to refuse to suffer for others. They are also so selfish as to believe that Christ's death was nothing but a thing. Moreover, they are so selfish as to question the motives of God and overglorify the human being.

What is the point of your question, really? To say that Jesus' gift was nothing--like a Cracker Jack toy? To say that you would have done the same thing? When the fact is you can't, and I can't, and he can't, and she can't. The point of the gift is that none of us can give it to ourselves or to anyone else.

No. I do not think it was very easy for Christ to die on the cross. I believe it was a very slow, very painful death. I know I would want to go quickly.

As for torture, Christians go through it everyday. Not necessarily by someone beating on them physically, but mentally run down by non-believers and financially.

But, remember he was also fully man and he experienced fear, and pain. The night before his crucifixtion he prayed "to let this cup pass from me." He was up all night praying.

It was a real death, and he knew he had to do his father's will. It is such a horrible death, I don't think anything made it easier

I believe its harder... imagine if you will, you have the most powerful weapon in your hand but are forbidden to use it in times of need.... coz the enemy says, if you use that, I will detonate the bomb in so and so building killing your whole family within. Its not the sacrifice thats tough, its the "holding back" while possesing a powerful arsenal to wipe out the enemy in a blink thats tough.
