After seeing so many people around me get excited to get married, then go through a hell of a marriage and get divorced, only to turn around and start looking to get married again, I dont understand what the draw to marriage is. Why is everyone in such a rush to "tie the knot"?

Is there a community of spiritual people who live high in the mountains away from all this chaos much like Amish people?
I know there are Native tribes who still fight governments to claim these mountains but I don't belong to any of those tribes.....where can I go to find peace and escape this man made corruption? I'm getting older, wiser and more aware of the world around me. Depressed and tired by the system...I just want to follow the footsteps of those before me. Were does one go or how does one cope when getting to this point in life, any suggestions?

Why? Why did you choose that person? Did you ever regret that they didn't know it was you?

Does helping out another human being simply to make yourself feel better truly make you a better person? Or would the act of selfishness in helping out another overweigh the act of helping? In other words, given that a truly selfless act can lead toward self improvment, then would that act truly be selfless? or, in that matter, is selfishness the base root of human kindness?

I went for a walk earlier & you know the roadsides and the hedges were full of empty plastic bottles, beer cans and other rubbish.

Is it like this were you live? why are we paying council tax when it is so filthy dirty everywhere?

What can we do about it? I think if they spent a month cleaning it up it would be like Sisyphus and they would have to begin all over again.

Its thoroughly depressing the way we treat the country. :~(

Some of the most prominent well known people in America are black. Oprah Winfrey - richest woman, Johnny Cochran - best known lawyer, Obama - possibly next president, Condi Rice - the President's whore. The list goes on and on, their is no excuse for the black man anymore to live in the ghettos uneducated and blaming the whites. Unfortunately, the most common thing you hear from black activists; the white man is holding us down! When will minorities realize they have the ability to do just as much as any other American if they put their minds too it.

I often hear women say that skid marks in the drawers is something only guys get. They say it with a tone as if it's impossible for women to get skidmarks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought women defecated too and therefore were susceptable to getting skid marks. Is there a omnipotent forcefield on their butts that prevents skidmarks from happening. You never know, she could have diarrhea and had to use it behind a bush, and had nothing to wipe with. Will any woman here admit they had a skidmark?

I would also go as far as to say that everyone has had a skidmark at least once in their life. Some people are just stuck-up beyond belief. And I guess it makes sense that no woman would ever admit to having a skidmark. Women generally like to associate their womanhood with cleanliness and perfection.

BTW, I wipe with babywipes and that pretty much does the job. But yes, I have had skid marks before in my life.

I am doing a mock debate on Monday and our topic is: Resolved: Exams should be abolished. I need some views from both sides. If you leave a comment, it would be helpful if I had your name (just first name is fine) and state where you live (ex. VA, NY etc.).

Thanks!

You get sick of everything, everyone, what do you do then? I would opt to stay in my house and never leave, unplug my phone and just try to sleep or read one of my many unread books. OR go to a tattoo palor and get a full body tattoo.

The telephone was actually invented by Antonio Meucci, not Alexander Graham Bell.
It's said that Henry VIII had just two wives, not six.
Some neurologists say that human beings have at least nine senses, not just five.
Water is actually blue, not "transparent".
The universe is beige, not black with silvery bits.
Jesus wasn't born in a stable.
The largest living thing is a mushroom.
Reindeers wre the first animals to be domesticated, and Rudolph the red nose reindeer must have actually been a girl, despite the song saying "his nose so bright".
Columbus thought the Earth was pear-shaped and about a quarter of its actual size.

Interesting? I think so. There are loads of strange facts in The Book of General Ignorance, by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson.

I always see guys that are more miserable than women (due to the nature of today's society). But the stats say that women suffer from depression more than men, even in this day of women having more rights than men,

Why is this? And what are women doing about it? And yet men commit suicide more successfully and frequently than women.

Hi people,

Need some ideas, been to my part time job today, and the department manager made one of the girls I work with (her only job as well), walk out; amongst other things, he’s basically been an *** all day.

Need some ideas on how to teach this guy a lesson.

So any ideas?

By the way no breaking the law, my proper job means I can’t have a criminal record!
