Its very bad theres more poverty here than in the Uk, America is a richer country, but not individually, there is extreme poverty in america and we all know it's being covered up, our country is being run by very rich people and they want to keep it that way.

My grandmother said racism will be dead with her generation after I called her on a racist comment she made. It is definately less than it was but I still see it. How can we help end racism without programs such as affirmative action which I feel unfairly benifits people based on race instead of qualifications.

C'mon share it! You don't know anybody on here! =-) Mine is weird but I'm 23 and whenever I see one of those ppl dressed as an animal or character like at disneyland, I cry! It's almost like anxiety attacks. I'm not scared of 'em at all. I have no clue why I do it. But I've hidden it from my parents and spouse forever! I just walk away or pretend to be really interested in something else and take lots of deep breaths until it passes!

I have, and I really hate it. Many times people talk down to me and expect that I do not speak English. This even occurs in My English classes. I usually have the top score in all of my English classes, yet other students, whenever we have group work, talk slowly to me, and assure me not to worry about the work. This upsets me a lot. Firstly, because their (the members of a certain group) analysis papers (This is usually what we do in Literature class) are terrible, and their grammar is as well. (I don’t mean to sound high and mighty, but I work as an English Tutor and know what a good paper is) Whenever I do group work, I usually end up doing all of the work, and the other members get credit. Once, after I gave a presentation, I was told that I was lucky to have such a smart partner because I would share in the grade as well. He didn’t eve do anything except stand there!

What single aspect of your life could be changed that would effect an overall change in your livelyhood? I have asked this question on a few different forums and gotten a good variety of answers from as simple as a 6:00 wake-up call every morning so he could get to work on time to answers as complex as squashing racism. ty for all serious responses.

I am curious as to what exactly you need to positively change your life right now and would you be willing to contribute resources such as time and money, and if not, why not.

Feel free to ramble on if necessary to be as specific as necessary. And if you feel comfortable with it I would appreciate knowing your location or basic region that you live on. And if possible what difficulties that area presents for you

I am muslim and wear a hijab and people always look at me as if I'm an Alien. I thought America was supposed to be a place where everyone is equal yet people are always quick to judge and stare. I am not saying everyone does this ( my friends all of which are different races and relegions don't).

Are We All Really that Different?

Why is it whenever I go outside
People always stare
As an equal human being
I find this unfair

Why are you quick to judge
When I have done nothing wrong
You look at me as if
I'm the freakiest thing you've sawn

Can't you accept
That I am different from you
Because whenever I see someone different
I accept them too

I'm writing a paper suggesting that a legally blind person can't notice race, therefore would be "color blind". I need a jumping off point, if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks ahead of time.

Seriously, i was just walking down the road and a group of african americans were walking down the road heading opposite direction i was going. I was by myself and a these people were screaming "me love you long time" and "ch ink" and "sand n-word" and "go back to your country, immigrant." This hurt me so bad, and i felt like giving them a share of their own persecuting medicine. BUt with a little self-restraint, i prevented myself from saying anything that i'd regret. They were decked out his hoodlum attire and were very mean. I was just heading over to my grandmom's house to help her take out the trash because she is a frail elderly women who can't perform easy tasks. I asked them "why?" though. Then they just said "yo is this fool serious? chump, we don't like you, we don't like your kind, scram-yiggity-yam (?) before we decide to mug or curb stomp (?) ya yella ***." I honestly didn't know what to do right there and then, so i ran. What did i do to deserve that?
