My grandmother said racism will be dead with her generation after I called her on a racist comment she made. It is definately less than it was but I still see it. How can we help end racism without programs such as affirmative action which I feel unfairly benifits people based on race instead of qualifications.

Racism is not dying by any stretch of the word. Y!A is a perfect example of that with the answers people give and the many questions about it.

We can help end it by stop making it a topic of conversation. If we stop worrying about what one race is getting that we are not getting, we can move forward. If we think as if our country really is ONE, we could make a joint effort to build an economy that everyone can benefit from.

Affirmative Action and many other social programs that are in effect today are just ridiculous. But it is what it is. We need to come together as a group and help everyone, not just a select few.

Racism will continue because we pass this dreadful disease on from generation to generation; culture to culture. Its never ending.

racism is existing because there are people who think they are superior. so unless these people disintegrate or just go genetically mute, no, racism will never end. we just have to learn how to deal with it and not be racist ourselves.

Absolutely not. It just transforms. Anywhere that disparity exists, there will be racism.
