Why is there extreme poverty in America which is being covered up by the goverment?

Its very bad theres more poverty here than in the Uk, America is a richer country, but not individually, there is extreme poverty in america and we all know it's being covered up, our country is being run by very rich people and they want to keep it that way.

Because the American government would rather send money to feed other countries and fund the war, instead of helping those in poverty here in the US.I really don't know why

So following your logic it would be better if the country was run by those who have consistently failed enough so that they have ended up poor? I can't think of any circumstance where the most successful are out of power.

I don't agree with your premise to begin with. There are poor people and we have many programs to help them. That does not mean they are all getting helped, but that is not from a lack of trying to help them.
