Where do they get money for food? How are they homed?

It baffles me as to how they get by. Everywhere you turn i.e. jobs, benefits, car etc people want to see your papers.

I would be homeless, probably, without any official documentation.

For instance- what happens if you order something you need for a certain event and they SAY it's going to be there on time, but isn't? What if you order something and they say it's available, but then you get an e-mail 3 days later saying it isn't? So- do you all think shopping online still outweighs foot-work shopping?

Why do you put us in the same group as crack heads and heroin addicts?
I have a wonderful relationship, I am creative and passionate and i have a HND and a degree! I know many cannabis smokers who are very intelligent happy, down to earth people!

What gives you the right to look down your nose at us?

I'm a native California, S.F. Bay area born and raised. Just wondering...you can answer openly under the 'cloak' of this avenue here...what do others outside of California think of us in terms of the way we think, dress, spiritual, creative or not, grounded, are connected with issues etc. Would appreciate insight.

there was an article mentioning names of over 700 convicts sent to Australia 200 yrs ago, and that any Australian sharing a surname with a convict would get a free lunch in London. Does anyone know the website where the list of convict names are?

Do you think a black comedian, lashing out at a white heckler ,using terms like "honkey" "cracker" or " white devil" would create the same outrage as the Richards thing? Would it even be news?

Or if you didn't understand that:

"Are peeps in US thickerer than over the wide blue sky on the floor?"
(If you understand that better, then you're American and need not answer)

I come from Korea. I've been living in the United States for 11 years. I feel loved and blessed to be living here. why do people not like here?

Currently in my town there has been a significant increase of beggars, general low lives, and crime. The sense of the community is really low, everyone seems miserable and unmotivated..ive been talking to people and they agree that the change has been quite dramatic, its always been a poor area but something has changed for the worst,...it feels like there is not much hope...has this been happening anywhere where you live?

I am writing a paper on Public Policy and the Feminization of Poverty (great subject, huh?)

Well, I have found a lot of information from several sources claiming that AFDC (Medicaid, etc.) is responsible for out-of-wedlock pregnancies and that many women choose to be sexually active because they know they can get help in supporting the resulting children.

Other information claims that women who would otherwise seek and find employment choose to remain unemployed or under-employed in order to keep their incomes low enough to receive AFDC benefits.

I have an opinon on this, but don't want to share it yet. I wonder what you people out in yahoo-land think.
