there was an article mentioning names of over 700 convicts sent to Australia 200 yrs ago, and that any Australian sharing a surname with a convict would get a free lunch in London. Does anyone know the website where the list of convict names are?

It's called The S & M Cafe; the full list's on there. Altho the article does say it's offering the free meal to "anyone with a valid Australian passport whose surname is the same as one of those first 754 settlers", so just having the same name probabl won't get you any free scran.

Have you tried the Metro's own website? You might find the information on there...
