especially as there are so many bars, clubs, associations where they can find like minded people. Why trouble random blokes in coffee shops, trains, shops, pubs, at work etc? Maybe its just living in Brighton?

i think that it depends on the guy in question. I know alot of gay guys and some of them are very respectful, they understand that guys are straight and they are just normal with them. However some other guys I know take great pleasure in winding straight guys up and making them feel uncomfortbale. Although I am very comfortable with gay guys and gals I do find it very intimidating when they are in your face flaunting their sexuality.

I guess the people in question should really know who they are and change their behaviour! x

I take this to mean that you may be getting hit on by a gay man even though you are straight? Are you wearing a “I’m Straight” sign around your neck? He is just hitting on you to see if you receptive. Tell him you’re not interested and he’ll leave you alone. Do you hit on girls just in clubs or do you also hit on girls in coffee shops, trains, shops, pubs, at work etc? Same thing. Get over yourself.

Have you ever been beaten to death by gay guys? You're asking this question, so it's safe to say no.

Have you ever lost your job at the hands of a gay guy? Your apartment? Been beaten because of your orientation? Ridiculed in public while being threatened with bodily harm, because your straight? Prevented from getting married? Assumed that you molest small children?

Pardon me if the occasional gay guy thinks your gay, but I just don't see that as serious as what most gay guys have and do endure.

Really? Maybe it is because you live in Brighton.

Would it happen in a little tea-shop in the Cotswolds?

I really don't know where Brighton is, but whatever... gay men harass straights because it's funny. We can get a rise out of you quicker... no pun intended. It's just fun to rile you all up, because ya'll will get so flustered and confused and embarassed, and... oh the list goes on and on. If you straight guys just ignored us "gays", they probably would leave you alone.

Because they wouldn't be gay. If they are gay what gender do you think they would harass? If you want to avoid this stop going to the places you've mentioned, go some where else. If any of them make a close up to you, just tell him that you are straight and that you are not interested, Aren't you?

I think you answered it yourself...isn't it because Brighton is currently the 'gayest' town in England!?

Harassment (bashing) is childish no matter WHICH SIDE of the fence you're on.

Perhaps this is their way of retaliating BEFORE they are ridiculed again for THEIR preferences, who knows?

My advice is that you turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to those who express themselves in this manner. Life is so full of beauty and goodness... find YOUR Utopia instead.

Good Luck to you!
