What method of execution do you think we'd adopt? We seemed to like hanging but I think that's a bit dated now- or would we have follow America?

PS, was any method of execution except hanging ever used in the UK (except military firing squads)? I've never heard of electric chair or gas chamber over here. I'm not including ye olde methods of burning at hte stake etc etc by the way!

I have heard that it is based on economic status, education, or the region of the country the parents are from, and even fair skin vs dark skin. When I try to ask my friends here (US), it appears to be an uncomfortable subject, so I drop it. My closest friend is from Punjab (correct spelling?), and her children, who were born and raised here are not restricted to marrying someone of Indian descent, but they know to stay within the same educational level. Any info will be appreciated.

This is not meant to be a racist gibe so if you're easily offended or otherwise just going to kick off, please don't answer!

Why is it that (specifically in the UK), on things like TV shows and publications (government flyers, school brochures etc etc) always feature a shot or two of one member of an ethnic minority, almost as a token gesture to minority communities? Someone once said it was to appeal to the people who belong to these communities, but the way these people are portrayed in the adds is so painful obvious: 'Look! Our organisation isn't discriminatory- here's a shot of a man wearing a turban!'.

Kind of creates a problem where there wasn't one anyway in my opinion...what do you think? Thanks!

I remember when I was a kid I loved to go play outside with my brother or my friends. Kids these days just sit on their butts and watch tv and play video games. Whats up with that?

A 20 year old pregnant woman has reportedly been living in the shed in her mum's back garden because the council cannot/won't give her a house/flat until one is available. She has been offered Bed and Breakfast accomodation until one has been found, but has refused this. Her mum says she cannot live in her council house because this would mean she would have to pay extra rent according to her tennancy agreement.
The 20 year old says that an injustice has been done to her and the council should find her a house to live in straight away.

What are your opinions on this?

they claim incapacity benefit, and walk from their car to the front door and around our local town both using walking sticks and looking very feable! however in the seclusion of their back garden where they can only be seen by us and other neighbours they are lifting, carrying, building, climbing ladders, and walking without their sticks at speed. its not right!! but how can the officials catch them out when they can't be seen from any public area
