A 20 year old pregnant woman has reportedly been living in the shed in her mum's back garden because the council cannot/won't give her a house/flat until one is available. She has been offered Bed and Breakfast accomodation until one has been found, but has refused this. Her mum says she cannot live in her council house because this would mean she would have to pay extra rent according to her tennancy agreement.
The 20 year old says that an injustice has been done to her and the council should find her a house to live in straight away.

What are your opinions on this?

Those who shout loudest get what they want- these types of people always know their rights and the loop holes! us hard working people could learn a lot off them!
I'd leave her in the shed!- she must've been happy there to turn down the B+B!!!
And if the mother would rather her daughter live in the shed than pay a bit extra rent- [probably out of her income support that we're paying for anyway- well that just sums them up really.
Also if they "cannot afford" the extra rent how is the girl going to pay for a council house- Oh yes of course she won't be- WE WILL!!!

She has been offered accomadations by the council and refused. This I believe is a classic case of "Cutting your nose off to spite your face". She is not supporting herself, burdening society by taking a free ride and then crying injustice because she can not be supplied housing when none is available. I'm sympathetic to her being pregnant, but in this day and age of information she, and her partner, should have been more responsible and used some form of protection. Perhaps the best solution is to lock up her for child endangerment.

She is obviously just trying to get a house a bit quicker. When I was on the homeless list i was told that if i refused a bnb I would be taken off of the list. Luckily I found a good private rented flat in the meantime.

This girl must actually be staying in the house with her mum!

Sounds like yet another woman who feels its her god given right to have a house from the council because she is pregnant, her home life must have been too restrictive for her and she thought getting pregnant was her way out and into freedom of no rent and benefits for life, how sad these people are if they think that is all on offer to them.

She has choices she shouldn't moan, as a single man I can not get a flat until the last person on the list is settled. If I could get one by having a baby and spending time in a B& B I would, just like 80% of young mothers today.

What makes her think the council should house her? She should get out of that shed and get a job like the rest of us.

Her Mother should be charged the extra rent as, while she's (supposedly) not living in the house she is living in the property.
