I just found this and wondered who would find this useful:

Goodfellows insurance company of London, England has a policy that may set your mind at ease. For about $150, the firm will insure you for $1.5 million against alien abduction. A slightly higher premium buys coverage against being impregnated by outer space beings. A spokesman for Goodfellows says the policy is owned by about 40,000 people--who must provide visual evidence and pass a lie detector test to collect on a claim.

Folk-lore-y speaking. How many bites would it take to turn you into a vampire, or how much blood has to be sucked? Or what would you have to do to turn into a vampire?

Do people make their own rotten luck? Do people make their own good luck? If you are kind, don't people react with kindness? So if you are rotten, who will care? Not I. So does it all build up and come back to you big time, one way or the other? Think about the do-ers and the couldn't-care-less-ers of the world? Thoughts? Would you save the bad guy first, or the good guy first if you could? Hmmmm.....

I am writing a fiction novel about a zombie that can eat nothing but human flesh to keep itself going. So any other kind of meat will have no effect. Sure, horror stories do use that idea to make it more scarey (or a living dead film with zombies raiding McDonalds is pointless!), and that's why I too am using that restriction. But in the story, I want to use an explanation (whether scientific, supernatural, etc) for why the zombie keeps itself "living" on human flesh only and nothing else. Any ideas for such an explanation?

I have heard of many people talking about them recently, and a friend traveled to a certain country where sightings of them are almost natural. She saw a couple of men holding some uncontrollable moving object from the sea, and when she came to look closer, she saw a mermaid. She described it like this: human top half, fishy bottom. The top human half was a female, who was very thin, and had sharp teeth, like a shark. She had long, flowing hair and elf-like ears. In this country's culture, it is believed that a mermaid mesmerizes a person with her eyes. I wasn't sure my friend was telling the truth, but after seeing a picture of the now-dead mermaid, I don't know what to believe. What do you think?

i.e. leviatation and stuff. Mind tricks are good too. My friend suggested one called catscratch, but i'm not sure what it is.

My second question is: have any of you ever had a bad experience with games like this? You hear all sorts of horror stories about Ouija boards and everything.

So on the one hand I want ideas to play at this party, and on the other hand I want advice so I don't mess with something too dangerous. If you can help on either score, please reply!
