One night, a few months ago, I was in my bed and it was probably around 4am. There was a voice speaking in my ear, it felt like my ear was buzzing, and I couldn't understand what it was saying. It sounded like a man's voice but I still can't be sure. I remember feeling paralyzed with fear I was so scared!!! No smart remarks like "you're crazy", please!!! Has this ever happened to you? What do you think it is? Is it a dream or a spirit?

i took pictures of this really haunted playground where the swings move and you hear laughter at night i went there and i immediately felt a presence i took pictures and everyone had a 3 or 4 tiny spots they would move to the swings and then to the slide it was really scary in the pics also i took pics of other things on the same film and didnt get anyspots so there wasnt anything wrong with the film .

i was at my cousins house chilling in her room i was listening to music when about 11:00 at night her parents where in the house and she has this field by her window when this man walked by her window he had on old field clothes and gave me this sinister smile and vanished i looked everywhere and there was noone there it has not happened since but i have had more than one energy feeling do dead people want to talk to me or something?

I was driving out at 3:03 am and there was this girl on the side of the road. I stopped to give her a ride and asked where she was headed. She said it was just up the road in a low voice. There was a very weird peaceful sort of feeling I got from being around her and the air was incredibly cold even though it's usually warm here this time of year.

I asked her where she was headed and she said 'to where I live' and I just thought jeez sorry for asking. We drove for about 3 minutes up the road. She put her hand on my shoulder and it was colder than ice. She said 'stop here'. I objected and said this was the middle of nowhere. She said again that this was where she lived. There was a cemtary just over the hill. She said '**** this is where I live'.

It occured to me just then that I hadn't told this girl my name. I was looking towards the cemetary and turned around to mention this. She was gone and the door was open. A breeze blew by. I felt strangely at peace but also afraid.

My fiance was killed in a car wreck 5 years ago. I have learned to deal with it over the years, but still and very often I have dreams about him. Sometimes the dreams are very real and the ones that make me wonder are the ones where he is laying in my bed next to me or holding me. This one is what I am asking about, is it possible that it is his ghost that I feel holding me in my dream. (most times I dont feel things in my dreams....but with these I can actually feel him there)

Whilst investigating the commonality of mythological characters I have, so far, been able to determine some shared appearances as follows:

Drangons - Appear on all continents with the exception of Antarctica.
Dwarfs - Europe, North Africa (Egypt) and India
Gnomes, Giants & Orcs appear peculiar to Europe
Elfs - European
Orcs - Europe
Werewolves/Changelings - Europe, Asia, North Africa and America

I am only interested in thoughts on Mythology and Legends, not Science Fantasy where I know these characters are widely used.

Could anyone ofer me additional information / clarification / sources of information etc.

we lived in this house when i was a teenager that weird things happened in. after we moved out all these years later no one has been able to stay in it stands empty now anyway i will tell you some of the weird things then i want to know what you think about what i saw one day we found two dead calfs under the house no bite marks no dragging signs in the dirt ? then my mom said one of the kids toys a sit and spin was spinning faster and faster in the house , one night i went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and the light was off i am sitting there doing my bussiness when i feel a cat rubbing on me meowing i pet it and think somehow a cat got in the house we didnt own one so i thought when i get done i will let it out its loving on me meowing but when i turn on the light its no cat it hissed and the only thing i can tell you is it looked like a bob cat crossed with a rat it reared back and hissed at me i screamed and ran no one could find anthing in the house

I've heard and have only seen the beauty of this palce through pictures and can see how it is deemed magical but what of the actual legends and folklore? Can anyone spare some stories maybe some history as well... oh and if you are Irish may i ask, whats it like to live there?
