It is amazing that I have a talent for having a good ear and can speak in different accents. I called up British Airways and they thought I was from England. I called up Qantas and they thought I was from Australia. When I called Air France they said my accent is good. I was born in the US. I can even do a Texan lady or male.Is this a rare talent? I'm pretty good with the Indian and Chinese accents too.Would I make a good actor? Any ideas how I can speak in different accents?

I'm hoping a few people could ask some of their kids (or anyones kids) if they know what the word, "Dilemma" means. I am thinking of using it in a film title, but I want to make sure it's not confusing. If you could ask a child (maybe anywhere from age 8-16), and let me know what they said (please also include their age, and if they're pretty good with the English language). Thanks so much!

I've learned some Spanish - at about an intermediate-advanced level. And I know that I should probably speak to native speakers to learn the language more effectively. However, I find it rather intimidating to speak to them. For one thing they speak much differently than the professors that I learned from, they speak faster, and they sometimes don't seem to understand what I am saying (thought I must say that my pronunciation isn't that bad, with the exception of a few sounds that I find difficult to make). And sometimes I just get weird looks. Needless to say, I find this kind of discouraging. I know I should probably just develop a thicker skin, but has anyone faced a similar situation as they were learning a new language and if so what's your advice? Any recommendations for other effective methods for learning languages?
