I am writing my Christmas cards, and I'm sending one to a Russian friend. I've taken Russian classes before, but we didn't learn how to say Merry Christmas. Is "С новым рождество" correct? Could anyone help me out? And don't give me links to on-line translators. I'd like the answer from someone who actually knows. And in Cyrillic alphabet, too, please! Thanks!

I missed my bus back home so killed time in a cafe, I wanted a pot of tea but i always got mixed up with the german word kaennchen and haehnchen, apart from the k and h sound exactly the same, the first meaning pot the second a chicken. I asked for chicken tea in a faultless accent, i thought they were deaf when they kept asking me to repeat it, so i finally shouted it thinking it's the german way. They said nothing and brought me normal tea and stood in a corner and watched. i thought everything was ok. When I got home, i proudly told my husband i was able to order something all by myself...he nearly died laughing, but added the pronounciation was perfect which prob threw them completely.
