My 17 year old son is fairly popular, plays baseball, and already has a car (and no, I don't want to spend that much anyway). I want to spend between $100-$200 on one gift for his 'big' Christmas gift. he has an iPod, and he buys his own clothes with his job money. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Is anyone else tired of seeing the celebration of Jesus' birth turned into a money and gift oriented circus?! Kids are getting way too much stuff, people are overspending, there is so much hype!! I try to keep it more simple every year, but my extended family keeps turning Christmas into something unpleasant. There is so much focus on material stuff. Any good suggestions to help combat this yearly battle that should not be?!

I just heard on the news that a lady was putting lights on her tree when something bit her. The next morning they found a bat hanging upside down on the wall. What do you think?

I really don't want to get trapped into the commercialization of Christmas and long for a simple time of sharing with family and celebrating the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas has gotten to be such a stressful time of the year and it really takes away from the celebration of the birth of our Savior.

why are people that do not believe in Jesus celebrating it? Do you think that the Big Business Commercializing has many people brainwashed?

I have no idea what to give my husband for Christmas this year. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves hunting and fishing, but I have done the whole gun/fishing pole/camoflauge, etc. in years past. So, I do not want to go that route. He is really not into high tech stuff, so that is kind of out. Does anyone have any good ideas? I really have NO idea.
