i mean doesnt it seem silly to anyone else? i would think you celibrate thanksgiving THEN you start on christmas. it seems logical to me. any suggestions why?

She was my cousin Anna Menkel, 17 years old. She was killed in a car accident. But she was like a sister to me. And this is our second Christmas without her. But yeah, anyone else doing what we are?

i know christmas and easter are originally christian holidays, but how /when/why did santa take over xmas? how /when/why did the easter bunny take over easter?

i can kind of understand santa...be good, family, sharing gifts.....birth of jesus...i can KINDA see a connection there....
but easter is like...HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?? what does jesus coming back to life have to do with ANYTHING to do with the easter bunny and painted eggs????

did these loved holiday characters come into our lives through media?

btw...please dont give me an answer with bible passages and saying stuff like "because the devil tricks us". supernatural answers arent going to tell me ANYTHING! i just want to know the history behind santa and the easter bunny.

Columbus Day is not pointless! it is a part of history! You dont think celebrating presidents day is wrong so why do you think that celebrating columbus day is wrong? presidents do the same thing!they send you to war..which is practically killing you! and just think if columbus didnt get the courage up to really see if the world was flat then who would??

Not including the kids. I'd like to figure out what I can do/make/buy for my brother, in-laws (who are all in their 20s), friends, etc. I'm open for anything EXCEPT gift cards. My son is seven. That is the first Christmas I remember. I want to give him the best Christmas ever....this will be our first as a family together on Christmas.

My answer: it was 1978 or 79. I woke up to find the Millenuim Falcon, and all the Star Wars action figures that were available at that time....WOW! Thanks Santa!

My mom is turning 39. And... I am 18. I dont have loads of money to spend but Im really bad at this buy a gift for my mom thing because I have no diea what she wants... or really what she likes really. She has every movie she likes or any CD she likes already... IDK if shes a flower person... i think they annoy her but idk...
