Who else wishes they would move Halloween up 1 or 2 months so its not so cold on the kids?
I have heard some people saying they should.
What do you think?

Year over year, more and more kids (older ones 13+) are "trick or treating" with less costumes. When I give them candy and ask them "where's your costume?" I'm told "thug", "human being" or "rapper".

I tend to turn a blind eye and give candy costume or not. Might not be their fault that their folks might not 'prioritize' getting them a costume or can simply not afford it.

My husband has had enough and wants to make a sign for next year "no costume - no candy".

We spend a lot of our personal time and money making our home scarier year over year with costumes, fog machine, graveyard, life size skeletons - the whole bit.

What do you think? "No Costume - No Candy"

Yay or nay and why?

I ran out of candy for trick or treaters pretty early. It was kind of sad. Who else ran out too soon?

One Halloween when we were kids, my mother surprised my brother and I that Halloween afternoon by announcing that we were going to dress up as homeless people (well, hobos, she called them). Needless to say, I took exception and was not happy. I had my heart set on wearing the Superman costume I wore the previous year and loved it.

But my mother would have none of it and insisted if I wanted to go trick-or-treating, it's the hobo outfit for me.

Needless to say, I relented and suffered through the Goodwill rags and grease paint (which caused my face to break out for about a week; THANKS MOM!). The worst Halloween I ever had.

Anyway, enough of my ranting. How about the rest of you?
