Christmas - December 2007

[Selected]: All categories Society & Culture Holidays Christmas

The Christmas cards have started arriving and my husband and I got into an argument today because I opened one. He said that Christmas cards are to be opened on Christmas. I say they are opened before so you can display them and send cards back if you got one from someone you weren't expecting it from.

This is our 3rd Christmas together and he has watched me open and display the cards the prior two years. Is he just messing with my head (which he loves to do) or do some people really not open the cards till Christmas day????

I live in Northern California and my two year old is excited by all the Christmas lights she has been seeing at the stores. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions for places to go up here that have good light displays. Our neighborhood is not festive at all.

Here are things he loves:

Soccer
Horror movies
Good food
Beer

He also wears a tie every day, so I could get him a nice tie (although I wouldn't really know how to pick a nice one).

Any ideas??

Even hasbro.com doesn't have it.
Has anyone been lucky enough to find one? Amazon.com has one but I am NOT paying $100 for a $30 game.

Reminds me of the Cabbage Patch craze in the 80's. Back then I had only one kid and was crazy enough to pay $150 for the coveted gift of all gifts.

Looking back now, I think "What the HELL were you thinking?"

This is for a girl who has a very busy life and doesn't seem to have much time for having simple fun. She is 15, almost 16 and I'm making the card myself. My goals are to make it fun yet a bit flirty but mainly to make her smile at it. I don't want it to be to sexy to the point she's disgusted either. This is to make a good first impression in person so that is good to keep in mind. So far, what I have is

"On the Naught list for..." but I don't know what to finish with for the inside of the card. Anyone have any suggestions that may help me?

I am pretty low on money. My daughter really wants a Christmas tree but I'm not sure I can afford it? Do you think it's okay to go one year without one?
