I would love to be able to say that it was purely about celebrating the birth of Jesus, but in all honesty to me it's more about spending time with family, opening presents, eating too much, drinking too much wine, watching the Queen's speech then falling asleep in front of the telly!!

I think in the United States, Christmas has become more of a traditional holiday rather than religious.

Christmas is the day Jesus Christ was born, however I am not Christian but celebrate it because my family does and it's a nice holiday [ by that I mean the stories, Christmas carols, spending time with family...]

Also I don't mind celebrating the birthday of Jesus, we celebrate Martin Luther king day and Columbus day why not the birthday of Jesus [who I believe to have been a good man, and he was Jewish =] ]

The true meaning has been lost....... All Christmas is about how much retail selling can be done to help the economy. It is really sad to think this has what it has become. True meaning - the birth of Christ, being with family and friends to celebrate. Do you think it will ever return to that?

A religious holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus but ruined by crass commercialism that has made it into a three-month money-making deal.

A time to show my family and friends how much I love them, to catch up and take time out... and to reflect on the love God had for us to send us His Son to save our world.
