isn't saying Merry Christmas rubbing it in just a little bit?

you say it because you are wishing other people, with all their problems and issues, can set aside their feelings, hardships and such, and have a merry christmas. i prefer to say happy holidays because not all celebrate christmas.

My parents are still alive despite disability.
My kids are all working and no one is in jail.
I scraped together the money to return to school and get a degree and now I have a really good job to pay off all those loans.
My family is getting together to eat turkey, exchange gifts, watch the little ones open the presents and then go to Midnight Mass together.
I have a lot to be thankful for and merry about.
There will always be dead and dying, accidents and disasters. As long as I have breath and can call my family about me, I will give thanks and make merry that hope will always rise again from the dark of winter.
May the Prince of Peace bring light to your heart and your soul.

Are those the only things that happened this year? There have been many good things too.

I looked at my year and realized I could describe it in two totally different ways.

Negative:

1. My only living son went to Iraq for a second tour.
2. That son missed the birth of his first child.
3. I developed complications following major surgery and a year later am just starting to get my strength back.
4. My husband was in an auto accident - his car was totaled.
5. My daughter in law experience difficulites in labor and had to have an emergency C-section. With complications in her recovery as well.

Positive:
1. My son got home safely from Iraq.
2. He got to be on the phone during the birth of his little girl. I have a beautiful new granddaughter (my first!).
3. I've learned so much about how to take care of myself naturally, and my health is returning.
4. My husband wasn't injured in the accident. Insurance replaced the car.
5. My daughter in law has recovered totally and is a great Mommy.
6. I got the job of my dreams. I thought it was going to have to remain in the realm of my daydream/fantasies, but it's really happening!

It sounds almost like two totally different years. The difference is in what I choose to emphasize - what my paradigm is. I like the positive view, and frankly, that's when my health started to improve. It's also when I was approached about my dream job. I didn't go looking for it; it came looking for me.

This year was exceptional. Thanksgiving was a blessed time. Christmas will be VERY merry, too.
Thank you, Jesus, for the blessings and for helping me focus on the good in life!

Those things happen everyday and if there was never a celebration,of Christmas or any holiday then we would truly be sad and miserable all the time with nothing to brighten or lighten the load. And yes they happen on Christmas too but life goes on and so we find ways to cope.No one is perfectly happy all the time,so saying Merry Christmas is just wishing for others to enjoy what ever makes them happy.MerryChristmas to you.

you're making a competent element approximately Hallowe'en and yuletide. you may desire to *a minimum of* be allowed to declare Merry Christmas *and* happy holiday trips in a project like that. I mean, there are different holiday trips on a similar time inspite of the undeniable fact that it does no longer mean you won't be in a position to renowned the only you have fun. regrettably company united states of america is attempting to erase the genuine meaning in pursuit of the all potent dollar. *OOPS* sorry, have been given slightly preachy there.

No, just count your own blessings, or are you being too much of a sour puss for THAT?!

try what you are complaining on:
a computer to ***** on
a home to have it in
electricity to use it for goodness sake
nice clothes
food to eat
the ability to AFFORD Christmas (if you can afford electricity and a computer you can afford christmas)
the ability to speak your own mind
more than likely a good job (whereas most people are barely making it on minimum wage an can't afford the luxury of a computer, I should know)
good health
clear thought
a comfortable bed to sleep in
good shoes

Add any other things that you D@MNED WELL SHOULD AND BETTER BE THANKFUL FOR MISTER!

Bah humbug to you too. Those things happen everyday of the year. What is wrong with having just one day to be happy and not have to worry about those things especially since they're out of anyone's control?

Ah, well, this atheist has been known to say it anyway, or just plain Hi.

Some things are beyond my control.

You know the old blues line about "You see me laughing/ I'm laughing just to keep from cryin' "?
