I am not feeling very happy about the holidays.
I am jewish, but my family does nothing special for the holidays. We don't decorate, and because we aren't religious, we don't do a proper Chaunaukkah.
What I mean by that is, we don't have a manourah, we don't light 1 candle for 8 nights. We don't get 1 present every night. My family doesn't even gather together every night just for the sake of being together. We have had 1 semi-big dinner, and that is it.
I havn't done any real holiday shopping, I havn't felt that frustrating, yet enjoyable holiday craze, nothing.
As presents for Chaunaukkah I have gotten my room painted, and money from my grandparents. I am very grateful that I got my room painted, and I know it is a privledge, and I should be thankful I have a full stomach and a roof over my head, but this time of year just feels like any ordinary day.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get more into the spirit?
