i always thought that nativity scenes didn't include the baby jesus figure until christmas day because he hadn't been born yet. i seem to remember this from childhood, yet the little guy's been in every manger setting i've seen this month. anyone else ever do it this way?

Goodness knows what pillock gave you a thumbs down for an intelligent question. Have a thumbs up to balance :)

A very valid point but I guess the logic is "the nativity is about Christmas day even when shown beforehand".

Hmmm, religious continuity error :)

ps: > Bungle > I'm in danger of missing the plot here - are you saying that the Birth was not only supposedly a virgin birth (yeah right) but she popped him out 2 years old?

Bet she needed some stitches, bless.

When I was growing up, at home, in my family and most places we'd go, that was the tradition. I guess were just lucky Nativity scenes are being put up.
Hope that was pillock not Pollock, I am one, oh well,
Merry Christmas to all thumbs up 'cept one.

Jesus was a toddler not a newborn baby. That is why King Herod ordered the slaying of boys 2 years and under.
It was not December he was born.
The bible doesn't say three wise men.
The star of Bethlehem was manifested by Satan to lure the astrologers to report to Herod of Jesus's whereabouts.

It makes sense that way but I have seen it before Christmas day also.
