I am so ad this happened to me. I went to a "go see" so I can get signed to a modeling agenacy and I presented myself. And the woman who managed the casting turned me down because I was "too dark, great personality too ethnic, and because my hair wasn't straight(my hair is silky and wavy but it looks slighty kinky); and they were looking for 'All American Beauty' ." I seen several other Black girls who were there get turned down also and all the models they had were all white or light-skinned Latinas. What's up? Why are Black women constantly being bashed? Why do we have to relax our hair to fit in with the "All American Girls"? Why is rascism still prevent in American modeling?

Before you read this question, Im not a racist.... just very confused. What can we call people who are black, ( for want of the correct word. ) Some of my mates dont mind, some prefer black, some preffer coloured. They call each other niggers, but I dont understand that as noone else would, and it comes from the slave times which im sure they dont want to go back to. Does anyone else have the same problem. We live in a townhouse complex, we keep the bike on our back porch that is screened in, we went on vacation last week, we have one of those things that makes noises when you open the door, that was on the screen door and it was locked, my husband also had a lock around his bike that locks up the wheel (i really don't know what this stuff means he just tells me) but anyway we have a cover but he didn't put it on (dummie) somebody cut the screen unlocked the door and tried to cut through the lock which was unsuccessful thank God, he's going to put a padlock on the back screen door so nobody can just open the door and take the bike out, does anybody have any other suggestions? i mean its practically brand new, he got it last year and i do not want it to get stolen

all these ******* kids today make me SICK.
No individuality, no intelligence,no tact.
personally, id like to drown anyone between the age of 16 and 18.

Its more or less the emo culture with the black haired kids brushed over one side of the face and the tight jeans and tight t-shirts....kids just arnt cool anymore like I was....

I'm 16 years old and I came to the States 3 years ago from Nigeria.
In my country it was actually cool to be smart and intelligent but in the U.S being smart is for "geeks". No one wants to be called a geek thats why American kids are not doing so well compared to other countries when it comes to academics. Whats your take on this?

Thank you to everyone who offered Italian baby name suggestions. My big sis. likes Marcellina a lot. (but she does change her mind....she says its the hormones)

So: I've done some research, and I know Marcellina was the name of a Roman saint, etc. & it is Italian, but also I know a couple Hispanic people w/ this name. (not that there's anything wrong w/ that, it's just she wants it to be very Italian)

My question is: when you hear the name Marcellina, do you think Italian or Spanish first? Thank you very very much!!
