This is the full story. Some people who live across the road from us used to be nice but all of a sudden they wouldn't talk to us any more. Then a few months later they start being mean (REALLY mean) and whenever we come out of our house they start making pig noises and saying 'Go back to where you came from(Nigeria)!' And also this summer I have gone to bed late but they keep the whole neighbourhood up by making loud noises and riding on quad bikes. Whenever I go to get ice-cream, they all come out and look at me strange. My family said they will sort themselves out but I'm not too sure about that. The idea I had was to call the community police and sort them out. Finally whenever we go out we can't even look without turning our heads. They shouldn't even be here!(They got putin by social services.)

Just recently, I realized that people have become much more anti-Semitic over the past decade. For example, Kyle is made fun of on the TV show South Park for being a Jew in nearly every episode, in the movie Borat there is the "running of the Jews" while Jews are said to be devils, and Jews are the butt of jokes on some late night comedy routines.

I had no idea that people hate the Jews so much in the US of all places, I was always taught that they are God's chosen people and are well respected. I was raised Christian but have an obvious Jewish last name, by the way. What are your thoughts on how the Jews are treated? Do you think this trend will worsen with prejudice against the Jews or will it improve?

I am a member of the US Coast Guard, in which part of my job basically requires me to learn spanish. I have a pretty good grasp of the spanish language so i don't really have a tough time speaking with the illegal immigrants we catch. I am also fluent in french because my mom was from France (besancon). So whenever i go back to europe to visit my relatives it seems that everyone is more sophisticated and speaks more than 1 language, escecially english. My question is, Why do most americans speak only english? How come we are not like the rest of the world and speak more than only our first language. I am an American, I was born here and didnt find it very difficult to learn and speak 2 other languages. If we could just get off the couch and be a little bit more enthusiastic we could all easily speak more than 1 language. This is pretty sad and pathetic, can someone please explain this to me?

You might consider this a stupid question but seriously, why do some people have to be racist? What is the benefit of being racist?

It doesn't do any good but it just causes problems. Do you think that people who are extremely racist have never been faced with racism, meaning that they don't know how it feels like, so they go overboard sometimes with their insults and comments.

O.k
to the gay/lesbian community, who here thinks my brother is good looking

I think he's a bit too geeky

personally I give him a 7 and a half out of 10...I've seen better (laughs)

He's into journalism, so he's written for a few newspapers (mainly Persian community stuff)...he also lectures, which has given him the idea of becoming some sort of professor.....I'd hate to be the one in his class....he'd get overly strict...

My poor brother reza is still in the closet and he's got inferiority complex issues

Any advice to give him more confidence with men?

The boss says,"You know something Hung Chow, I really need you today. When I feel like this, I go to my wife and tell her I want sex. That makes everything better and I go to work. You try that.

I feel so dumb asking this. I feel like I should've asked this a long time ago. I know that gay marriage isn't allowed in the U.S. (with the exception of a few states). I know that the national government does not acknowledge it. This is all common knowledge. But where does it say it? Can someone please point out to me the exact law the denies gay people the right to marry*?

* I also know it is a state-to-state thing. I'm referring to the national government in this case.

Yes, I still feel dumb asking this. I don't know how I stumbled on the thought. I feel the need to know "why" though. An honest to god legitimate question.

Why don't gay people place more emphasis on WHO they are as a person rather than their sexual orientation? We are all human beings and we're not going to be liked by everyone. Most all people are bullied for one reason or another. A TRUE friend will accept you or like you for who you are NOT what you are. Has anyone ever told you they like you only because of your orientation? Wouldn't it be more important to worry about who you are and not what you are?

Going back to school is such a drag. I'm taping a calendar on top of my binder for my AP class and crossing off each day. It makes me feel like I'm moving forward. Like some progress is being made, and I can count down all 180 days. I just don't want this summer to come to an end...

since gays can't legally marry in the US, do you still value marriage or have you found other ways to validate your relationship? do you think that a recognized marriage is the "brass ring"?

I mean are you kidding? Sure I don't wear hijab but thats does not mean i'll go sleeping around.

This treatment of women by Muslim men makes me sick to let you know.

Would you be happy for him that he finally came out? Or would you be angry with him for "lying to himself" about his sexuality?

What if he has had a male lover? Would you wish them well together? Or would you be angry with him for hurting your mum?

What if he had given your mum many wonderful years of marriage and had not cheated on her? Would that make a difference?

Would you be angry with him for destroying your fatherly image of him? Or would you think him more human and vulnerable?

On the flipside would you be happy that he has decided to marry your mum? After all, because of that, he has given you life?

No reason for this question, again, just playing the devil's advocate
