Just recently, I realized that people have become much more anti-Semitic over the past decade. For example, Kyle is made fun of on the TV show South Park for being a Jew in nearly every episode, in the movie Borat there is the "running of the Jews" while Jews are said to be devils, and Jews are the butt of jokes on some late night comedy routines.

I had no idea that people hate the Jews so much in the US of all places, I was always taught that they are God's chosen people and are well respected. I was raised Christian but have an obvious Jewish last name, by the way. What are your thoughts on how the Jews are treated? Do you think this trend will worsen with prejudice against the Jews or will it improve?

It's interesting that race/culture relations is such a hot button topic. Look at how angry some of you are getting. Over a post on Y!A, it's like if you had a shot gun and a jew nearby, you'd show them who was boss. And what about Mel Gibson, that was a good point. I am thinking more specifically about prejudice against God's chosen people being an indicator of what is said in revelations and the "end of times" so to speak. Sasha Cohen is not a practicing Jew, but yes Cohen is a jewish last name. That was a good point as well. I just noticed that anti-black jokes are being replaced---with anti-jew jokes. Hatred is rampant when it comes to religion, why? "your friend in the other room is ripping me another one (retort)" said the guy below? Huh? Hopefully, it's another fart, and you smell it with your hatefulness, you deserve it.

Many of these intense, hydrolic fueled answers prove that race and culture relations are bigger than you are. It's an unstoppable monster, a force to be reckoned with. There is some information in the bible that states the Jews will be heavily persecuted again in the "last days". http://zionsake.tripod.com/monitor.html
It's too bad intolerance and ignorance is so prevalent in society. Why can't we just all get along, if nothing else? Intelligent discussion aside, let's put aside our primitive, ape like behavior first. Then we can discuss intelligent topics.

I do not think it has gotten worse or better. I think that more people are being more vocal about it now than they use to be. See our parents and grandparents fought against Hitler during World War 2. Hitler killed a lot of Jewish people about 6.5 million, and probably more than that. So it was that many people for a long time felt sorry for the Jewish people. I think many still do. Now that my generation is coming of age (I'm 28) I think that many have forgotten all the suffering that they have gone threw as a people. The US is a close friend and allies of Israel so I do not think that as a group we hate Jewish people. I do not think even a half of a half of a half, hate or dislike the Jewish people. It is just that all we hear about on News shows and comedy shows are people stereotyping the Jewish people. We never hear of the good of others it seems like only the bad is what we hear. You are right the bible says the Jewish people are God's chosen people. They are no different than you are or me, or anyone. The ones who really do hate the Jewish people the most out of all of the world are the Islamic people. Those in Iran, Saudi Arabia and places in the Middle East. Try not to worry to much about it, and when you here someone making fun of the Jewish people ask them to please stop. They will if they are a nice person. I hope this helped answer your question. I am sorry my response was so long. =)

Hi, I'd just like to comment to the poster? Yah, I am friends with Jake O in real life. You said he smelled of hatefulness, well, I am Jewish. He knows this too. It took everything I had last night when he called me not to come and post here angrily.

Listen, we are gods chosen people in our faith, but not everyone believes this. Just because we call ourselves the chosen does not mean we can just go around and say that any transgression of ours is excused.

I also do not think Jewish people are under attack in America. If anything, we are good friends with just about everyone else. Your post here brought out some of the worst in the world, from people with Hitler avatars to people named "The Third Reich." But these people are a minority! They only show up here just because you made this post. Do not take their words as the words of a majority.

Finally, other than those people who verbally stated they hate Jews, everyone here has been quite reasonable in putting up with this question. You word this question as my Rabbi would never let you: people can take offense to us calling ourselves the "Chosen," yet you use the word so irresponsibly. Please remember that inciting racial tensions is something we must strive not to do. If you wanted to pose the question "is there hatred of Jewish people in the United States," your very first paragraph would have been enough.

But misinformed statements about cultural center pieces like South Park or Borat, both of which you have taken entirely wrongin their intent and meanings, will only incite hate. Believe it or not, stating that Jewish people in America are hated can create hatred. Until last night, Jake did not think he hated Jews.

But then you created this post and told him he did because he watched South Park. See how that can hurt?

I am a Christian and I Love you! Don't even let your mind wonder about what people say about you. I have no idea on what it is like to be a Jew, but I know that I have been made fun of because of my faith. Those people are just hurting themselves in the long run! You do what you do to help them people (because I'm not Jewish I don't know how you worship? sorry..) And because your father was a christian I bet you wouldn't mind me praying for them people too. That they will snap out of their put down ways! It hurts but they are people in this world that don't judge because you are a certain race or religion or nationality!!! I Care for you and don't even know you. That's more powerful Than all those misguided people!!! "Oh by the way" Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!!! ;)

I don't hate Jewish people and I don't have the right to hate anybody because of their race, religion, etc. I'm Hispanic so I know what it's like to be hated upon. I could never bare to hold the same feelings for someone else especially the Jewish. They have been the people who have been most persecuted throughout history solely based on their religion. Some people may say......the Jews own all the banks and businesses etc. but those are just excuses because those individuals can't be as successful themselves. They have always been used as the scape goats for others' problems and I wish people would just stop. Unfortunately I think this trend will worsen until people truly start learning from history and we stop seeing ourselves as Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, black, white, asian, hispanic etc. and start seeing ourselves as just humans.

God Bless

Matt Stone, one of the two original makers of Southpark is a Jew himself. Sacha Baron Cohen, who created and plays the character Borat, is a Jew himself.

I hope that will give you new ideas about the U.S. and Jews.

People like Mel Gibson are the ones who actually hate Jews. I don't think anyone would look up to a drunk Mel Gibson blaming all the wars in the world on Jews.

I don't think that South Park and Borat are the best sources to judge the pulse of race relations and anti-semitism in the U.S. C'mon. That being said, Jews are 1 pecent of the U.S. population. Did you know that? I saw that on CNN this weekend. That 1 percent controls a lot of the media and business interests here in the U.S. Do you really think Americans hate them, then? I hear and see more racist remarks aimed at Hispanics and African-Americans personally, esp. here on this forum.

Also, the guy that plays Borat is a Jew himself. His name is Sascha Cohen, I believe. So, I guess he feels he can make fun of Jews.

I don't think television is a good way to gauge the feelings of the U.S. I live here, but I don't decide what is put on tv. Just because you see something on tv you shouldn't think everyone believes that as well. I don't think anyone treats the jews worse as a whole so basically what you're asking is if the jokes will disappear from tv. Sadly the answer is probably no.

Prejudice against the Jews has always been a part of American society. There are small quips that everyone says that is an obvious reference to Judaism and also to Jewish people. I think that the main reason that the Jews are so hated is because of the mainstream belief that they killed Jesus, also because they look different and talk different. (the main argument for racism in any form, which is STUPID) I live in Texas where we had an individual named Kinky Friedman running for governor. He said something like "The Jews run the world, the protestants and catholics work in it, and the blacks (he said something else) and the mexicans leech off it." I thought this was weird because he was jewish, but oh well. I hope that this trend doesn't continue because racism in any form comes from stupidity and is wrong in my opinion.

How do you feel about the nazis? Not so great huh? Genocide kind of sucks? Ok,you zionists have been running a Genocide against the Palestinian people along with your American Stoogies since 1947! Why do people in America Hate you? Why do you care? You people are the masters of this satanic Empire! You control the media, you have the fundamentalist Christians kissing up to you to get good air time deals to help them collect the social-security checks from little old ladies, Look at the names Wolfowitz,Kissinger,If it is evil the Juden stamp is all over it! Akai Al-Mafit As-Salaamu Aliakum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Braraktu! Inna haqq! Inna Haqq!

Maybe you have not botherd to take a look at the Southpark credits! Its a Jew Joint! When the Bushy Haired Kyke from Sienfeld made remarks about blacks that would make a southern KUKLUX KRAKER blush, he got a little flack. Say something about the jews and you are Satan incarnate! GODs chosen people? Does that tell you something about the way both the Christians and the Jews have perverted the idea of GOD?
You say you are a christian. You people call God Father right? How would you feel about a human father that played favorites with his children? the Goyim sit on there christian tookus and listen to Judge "Jew"dy belittle and humiliate them, and thank its funny.and you DEVILS claim you are mistreated. One more thing. You have a Jewish last name? I thought it was a religion not a race! If my last name is Pope does that make it a Catholic last name? Anyway you are SOL because gods choosen preople trace their Kyke-ishness through the female parent. So your last name has nothing to do with it. Unless both sets of ancstors sold out the club and flipped christian.
