I have a few teachers in my family and they are teaching the middle and high school levels. We were having a discussion about the things the kids were doing now days and how their behaviors are compared to what we used to do in school. All of them said that suddenly there is a big thing going on where kids that are as young as 10 years old are saying they are gay and actually having same sex relationships.

When I was in school, being gay was not cool and people would laugh and kids would get beat up for being gay which I think was wrong but it was socially unacceptable at that time. But now days kids find it to be cool and they don't seem to have a true understanding of what being gay is all about. How can they say they are gay when they have little to no understanding of how their bodies work and how their sexuality works? Do you think this is a fad or are they born like this or are we as a society making being gay the cool thing to do?

And no, I'm NOT implying that they shouldn't date black men in any way. I just seem to notice loads of white women with black partners and vice versa, but rarely with Asian (or even Chinese) men.

i) Is it down to looks..?
ii) cultural differenes...?
iii) Are some white women actually attracted to Asian men but don't feel they can approach them as easily as they can a black man...?

Am very curious from a social perspective, so welcome all answers. Racists preferably need not apply, unless you have a valuable insight to contribute.

My mom has dreads. And a lot of offices won't hire her because her hairstyle is "inapporpite". I don't get it. It's her hair and that's how she styles it to keep it healthy. Why do Blacks folks have to relax their hair just to fit in? Why can't we wear our nautral hair? I know wearing you hair in a certain way is a choice. But why won't a office hire someone with braids? White people wear their natural hair all the time. I even stopped straighting my hair because it was getting damaged by the chemicals and my hair started to break off. Right now I'm trying to get a afro like Trace Ellis Ross from the show Girlfriends.

Why does it seem that people can hate someone without even knowing them? Can anyone be open to accepting others before they know them? why is there no trust in the world any more?
Please try to answer all questions.

Lots of gay men who become HIV+ suddenly, in the face of death, have lots of sex partners, who may or may not be positive themselves and do not dislose their HIV status. Or they only have sex, and exclusively unsafe sex, with fellow HIV sufferers. Why?

I want to have a lesbian relationship with my best friend. She knows I'm bi, but she's not really sure about herself.

Hi all,

I love to swim. I swim laps at an indoor pool as often as I can. And I always swim with a T-shirt on. I'm not trying to hide something. It's just the way I prefer it.

Now a friend of mine remarked that he thought it's a gay thing to swim with a T-shirt on. I'm not aware of anything like this. Do gay people swim with a shirt on more often than straight people?

I have a crush on this girl at work(which is a fast food joint) She is pretty, and hard working, but is also quiet. Sometimes I will catch her looking at me. Ushally when she is around , I getclomsey and can barley speek. I try to stay away so I don't make a fool out of my self. She works nights and I work mornings, and I will work with her for a little while before the shift changes. I probley won't approch her. Advice from anyone would help, but advice from a lesbian who actually done this will be more helpfull.

As a gay guy, i love to have children sometimes, I think i would be a great father for the first, and being in a steady relationship for the last two and a half years, (my previous one was for 5 years, and i am still friend with my ex) i think i can say im pretty well settled down, im 31, have a steady job as an architect and am a responsible person. What do we feel about two guys / or girls raising kids for that matter.

I have some lesbian friends, maybe raising the kids together, so that the child get both a female and a male role-model? what do you think?

Looking at some parents you see on television today etc, that doesn't seam at all very good parents, i am just thinking that we - as a responsible couple could surely do a better job.

I dont have a problem with adopting neither,as their are many kids out there in the world that have horrendous upbringings or no parents at all.I think we could provide them with a warm and loving home that can provide protection and good values.
