IF you are implying that Straight guys cannot care about how they look, you are coming from a very strange place. I do not believe that metros are either copying OR closet...they care about themselves. Too bad MORE straight guys don't. From the looks of things, Straight men think it is cool to be sloppy, dirty, and dress as if they have zero money...not a good way to make an impression on a woman. If you are implying that having decent taste in clothing and home are Gay traits, then THANKS! But, sadly, I don't think this is the case. Now, clean up your act, go out and buy some decent clothes, get a hair cut, and look decent for a change. Who cares if someone like you thinks you are Gay...big deal! Hell, you may be gay, for that matter, you don't state so either way. Good luck and peace.

Homosexuality is more about sexual orientation and less about fashion. There is a myriad of homosexuals, ranging from the screaming queens to many gay men I know who are not in the least bit concerned about Prada shoes, Calvin Klein underwear, Versace tops, D&G denims wearing foundation or applying evening creams before bed.

The question assumes that wanting to look good, or being vain, is a gay attribute. If this were the case more than three quarters of hollywood actors and politicians are gay.

I don't think straight men are copying gay men or are closeted because they look after themselves. Australian men are extremely body conscious, eat healthy, use creams and look after themselves. Italian men are generally fashion conscious and love their labels but also love their women.

Being body conscious is a lifestyle choice, being gay or straight isn't.

Hope this answers your question.

Neither, my ex-husband is the ultimate metrosexual and yet he certainly isn't gay and wouldn't want to copy them either, he just appreciates that as he gets older he needs to look after himself more to still seem attractive. He is also seeing the good things in carrying a bag and stuff, he is also mature enough not to care what silly straight chavs think of the way he dresses anymore.

No. It is a form of beauty worship Totally divorced from sexuality.

Metrosexuality is the male version of the sexual objectification of the female form. Metrosexuality is the pressure to look your best, the most sexy, the most desireable, the most well-groomed man.

Vanity is an obsession, a curse, really. Not a form of sexuality at all.

Is that what it is called.

It makes economic sense for single guys to claim to be in gay relationships.
I suspect some Gay Media stars are closet heterosexuals.
It is a good ploy for a bloke to pretend to be gay but to find just one special girl attractive, gives her a great feelig that she and she alone can turn a Gay guy on. Good pulling ploy that one!

Neither.

Metrosexuality, usually straight men who have no problem with taking care of their appreance. My son, seventeen, has always been very aware of his appearance. He's always been very paticular about his clothes and their apprearance. He grooms himself to be acceptable in all situations and social events.

He uses hair products, skin care products, actually knows how to use an iron and takes care of his clothing.
He's also very straight!
There's no question as to his sexuality and his girlfriend will attest to that.
He's athletic, a socially popular person, a good and loyal friend, a hardworker, a good student and an all around caring and compassionate person.

He isn't trying to "look" or "act" gay, whatever the heck that means.

metrosexuality is a very bad name. the word sexual of course means sex . hetro sexual is refurring to someones attraction to the opposite sex and homosexual (homo meaning two of the same) reffers to someones attraction to the same sex. metro sexual .... well metro is another word for bus or automobile so that is out of the question and it has nothing to do with someones sexual preference. this is why is transvestite is not known as a transvestite sexual. a transvestie is a hetrosexual who enjoys wearing clothing steriotyped by the opposite sex. i think most people would agree that metrosexual does not exist and many people who label themselves as it are just trying to get another title for themselves or that little bit more attention.

No those are the guys that lok better and the ones that take care of themselve and want to lok nice. They are the ones that may take it a little too far by getting massages and getting their nails done. But they aren't gay, not even close. They just want o lok nice. Who wants a guy with crusty toe nails, and smells and as an ugly beard running down thei face? We want nice guys who knows how to tkae caer of themselves.
