Because unfortunately we live in a"shyt" society that wants black to be the race no one wants to be but cant get enough of....people are insecure ignorant racists, I dont know any race out here that doesnt look beautifully enhance when mixed with black, wake up people and get over it, the predominate race in the world is black, and you can find black blood in every part of the world, just look at the people, from north to south east to west. And being half black half hispanic has done wonders for me.

Brasil used to be a Portuguese colony, African slaves were imported for heavy labor and were LIBERATED
in the XIX century by royal decree WITHOUT any civil war like the one in the USA.most Afro portuguese ARE
BRASILIANS descendants of the former slaves . So you can say that many Brasilians have African ancestry BUT
NOT THE PORTUGUESE ,since the slaves were not
lmported into Portugal

Because they aren't part black. My niece is part black, her father is black and her mother is egyptian.
I am less than 1/4 native american and german, but when asked i say that i am black. Not because I deny my race, but because those genes were more than 3 generations ago and i don't practice any of their cultures.
Maybe its just not that big of deal. None of us in america are pure.
We are all mutts, every one has a little bit of something else in them.
When will we stop trying to classify things/people into black and white.
We are all the same on the inside...that is all that counts.

You could say the same about Italy and Spain. All the Mediterranean countries are close to the African coast and I am sure there was lots of travel between the countries. Plus, the Moors had taken over at one time.
Queen Charlotte who was married to King George III of England was from Portugal and has been noted for her African features.
I have to start using the word mud for myself. Mud is so rich, beautiful and comes in so many shades. It has so much nutrients that it sustains life. Thanks for turning me on to that term.

Why are you even concerned with something that constitutes less than 3/10,000ths of our genetic make up? The following is taken from a Howard University report:
>>Less than three percent of the human genome consists of genes whose products are expressed to create our minds and bodies, and less than one percent of these genes produce visible characteristics like skin color. Yet history has been marked by discrimination based on the visible, but biologically negligible, differences called "racial" characteristics.<<
So given the 99.97% of the genome we share we are all "part black" as you put it. Are you ready to admit you "black heritage"? Basically, we're all muds as you put it. I think its time the some people wake up and face the fact that we are for all intents and purposes the same and that our commonalities out weight our differences by light years.
People need to stop trying to build up their self worth by inventing ways to treat others as inferior. You want to feel better about yourself, then go do something for others that you can be proud of. Stop trying to foist your troubles off on others because of their skin color, where they come from, what political party they belong to or what brand of coffee they drink.
