I used to be a goth, totally into the life/deathstyle, listening to the most obscure bands and totally convinced I was unique, cool and not bothered about anyone's opinion of it. I grew up. Below is what I have against current Goths and all, but I might be wrong. I am wondering if anyone can change or strengthen my opinion? And if you think I'm an uncool repressive stuck-up oldie, try 'n go past that for for a bit.

(1) "Alternative" music nowadays is all fake, marketing and rip-offs. Since grunge, no real music style appeared on the guitar scene and the kids now are simple copycats. So are the bands. Listen to music from the 80s and 90s, compare it.
(2) Ripped jeans, trenchcoats and Dr Martens are all passé. It used to be a statement against the order, the normal. Now they're fashionista accessories. It's not just unoriginal, it's bloody conservative.
(3) Lastly, why are Goths almost always so 'open-minded' about gay/lesbian experiences.. Like you're uncool to be straight?

Since young I had an inexplicable attraction to some female frns. Usually close frns at first, then it moves onto the romantic side, sometimes I would think about going on dates..holding hands..heck even rather erotic fantasies and dreams (yes wet dreams..)
My problem is, I really want to stop thinking this way, it gets really heartbreaking.. cos
1)I live in an asian society, its not easy for myself to accept being lesbian, much less dare own up to parents/relatives/frns..
2)I had fessed up to 2 gals that I really liked (2 separate occasions of cos) but I got ignored/avoided etc, I am thankfull none of them told my family or like spread gossips etc...but it was very very very heartbreaking..I felt like a disease..
3)I find it gets in the way..I wan to keep my frns.. I dont want to keep thinking wildly about a frn..feel unbearable..then repeat 2) over and over again..
In short.. I just wan to stop having les thots!!! its making my mind crazy! How can I ever do it?

When you notice that you are bysexual or gay, does it happen from a life changing event, passed down through a generation, or are you born that way? I'm just wondering, how does one become or acknowlede that they are gay?

I just read a question having to do with why people ask (or tell) who is gay in the music industry. First answer out of the box is, "homophobic, I guess." But that assumes that when someone asks, it is because they want to disapprove or dislike the person if they are gay. Big and I think erroneous assumption. But I've never understood "outing," I believe in closets. Not just for gays, but for all of us. Privacy is important, and we should cherish it.

But does "homophobic" really mean afraid of gays, or disapproving of gays? If so, why throw it around so cheaply every time the very word "gay" is mentioned? Perhaps the people who want to know if so-and-so is gay are gay themselves!

Lesbians don't like men but they use phallic symbols like vibrators. Isn't that sort of a heterosexual paradox? I saw this couple on a talk show years ago. They were lesbians. The odd thing was one of them use to be a man. He had a sex change of course. What gets me is the other woman (a lesbian) was this guys/girls partner now. He was still a man in a way. My question I guess is this...are lesbians just opposed to men because their sexual organs are attached to them? I really would like an informed answer.

The ad goes on to say, "Teaching our white friends to dance since 1950."
If a white owned company made a statement like that, Jesse Jackson would be all over the country make a plea for blacks to boycott their product.
Why the hell doesn't the white race stick up for itself and retaliate like the blacks do?

I am very VERY proud of my heritage (Irish) I was born and raised in the US. Okay so, my question is this, do Irish folks FROM Ireland consider us American born Irish as equals? Just curious because I read a lot of questions on here from people from Ireland, England etc that sound to me like there is NO respect for Americans, Irish lineage of not on that side of the pond?

1-There are already exisitng laws that cover all manner of criminality perpetrated against U.S. citizens why tailor and re-legislate for a group who prefer same sex relations if not to "validate" a certain sexual preference as "acceptable"?

2 - Why are homosexual life-styles and sexual practices presented in many US Public school curriculums as normal.

3- Why is the former "Gay Pride Day" Parade now being billed as the "Pride Day" Parade.

What consenting homosexual adults do behind closed doors in the privacy of their bedrooms is just that..why must it be flaunted down Main Street USA in the most garish, vulgar displays imaginable particularly durting the infamous "Gay Days" at Disneyworld in Orlando... for five year olds to witness.

4 - Why can't a homosexual like everyone else strive to be accepted by the content of his or her character and his or her achievments or lack thereof, instead of what sex he or she prefers to have intecourse with?
