Folklore in my family proports that my great-grandfather was a part of the Jesse James gang who came to Texas under an assumed name. I would like as much information as possible in order to confirm or dispell this family tale.

Hello! I am Spanish native speaker, I will make a funny question: We (spanish speakers) sometimes use something called "jeringoza" to talk in a sort of code to a friend. For example to say:
- Hola como estas? - we say
- Hopolapa copomopo espetaspa?
Once I saw in a movie (in english) that the characters speak some language like that, I hope if you could teach me how to speak it. thank you

How must Jesus have felt to have had a dad, who was/is supposedly omnipresent, but who wasn't even there to take him to the park on Sundays.
Or am I expecting too much from someone who didn't even make an appearance at the conception.

As we all know, baptism is done said days after birth. However, how can you swear loyalty to "god" (if there is any) and all his saints if you can not even speak or make up your mind ? Why do people lecture me if I say i do not wish to be part of said Church ? Isn't it better to respect the traditions of my old ancestors, rather than being a devout Christian and spit in my forebears' face ? If I could choose, one moment in Heaven with people I do not wish to associate with (i.e. Christians) and eternity in Hell (which seems to be the punishment hanging over my head) with my ancestors, I know what to choose.

I'm not talking about the light hearted bible verses, but the ones that show tha GOD means bussiness. The only one I know is Ezekiel 25:17
"And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them."

If not, aren't you questioning the very foundation of your faith? If Genesis is wrong, doesn't that leave the rest of the bible open for reinterpretation?
Isn't that like placing the fallable word of man over the infallable word of God?

I've called myself a Christian for the past ten years but I've never actually sat down and read the WHOLE bible. So that's what I decided to do, every night I would read for 30mins. I've been reading for almost one month now and I've come across so many phrases that could not have come from God.
I've come to the conclusion that most of the bible is full of b.s and it was only intended as a general guideline and not to be taken literally.

Note, please read the bible from front to back or as much as you can before replying.

Your search among books, word upon word, may lead you to the depths of knowledge, but it is not the way to receive the reflection of your true self.

When you have thrown off your ideas as to mind and body, the original truth will fully appear. Zen is simply the expression of truth; therefore longing and striving are not the true attitudes of Zen.

Would you just watch to see it come true or would you repent of your sins and accept him for the first time? I reakon if Jesus anounced his return which he won't as he will come like a thief when nobody is expecting it I reckon that most atheists would probally just wait to see if it came to pass, as i do not believe many of them would repent. And Christians if there is any on here do you agree with me?
