The sons of Adam and Eve must have married a sister or a niece, yes. It is now called incest, yes. Is there a problem with it now? Yes. Was it a problem then? Apparently not. God, who sets the standard, wanted the entire human race to actually be related to each other, obviously. Thus, Eve was created from a rib of Adam - and not created totally separate. Since God did not create three or four entirely separate beings, of necessity they would have to be related to each other to "be fruitful and multiply."
Later on, God put an end to it. There's really no problem here.

Peace!
I have answered this question before.
Chapter 1-11 of the Book of Genesis is a Near Eastern myth picked by Jewish writers after the exile. The story of Adam & Eve is a parable and is meant to teach theological truths. There are many things in the Bible which are not meant as teaching. What is important is the revelation. So when reading the Bible it is best that you read it on the same level; it was written - spiritual. Before reading the Bible we should pray first and ask the Lord to guide us. If you do this, God will speak to you through the pages of the Bible.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Define incest and where the rules and ideas of incest come from and you will see that in fact they were not considered to be havinbg any incestous relations at that time.
Incest came about as part of a taboo forbidding close relatives to have sexual relations due to impurities of the blood which can cause genetic mutations. These impurities were not as bad back in Adams day as they only entered the human race as part of the aftermath of the fall of Adam when Adam conferred dominion of the earth to the devil. The devil introduced things into the world that caused the impurities into man and these have grown steadily worse over time. These impurities cause death and aging, sickness and mutations both physical and mental.
Back in Adams day these impurities were not so bad so there was no question of incest as being a problem. The blood was so pure that people lived for hundreds of years. Noah was five hundred years old when he BEGAN building the ark and it took him 120 years!
So no, they did not have incestous relations back then as there was no such thing as incest.
Yes Adam's sons married their sisters and produced offspring but this was all perfectly legitimate and correct. There was no question of incest and no taboo forbidding this.
You see, we cannot judge by todays standards. Today's standards only apply to today. The rules have changed due to circumstance.

Adam and Eve were the first people to know God. When they were cast out of Eden, there were people out there already, the bible says so, just read the text.
This could raise a debate about; was Adam and Eve genetically created, modified; an enhanced species introduced into the already populated World? This could explain the missing link between the demise of the Neanderthal and introduction of modern man. It also allows the Darwin theory to coexist with creationism.
(P.S - The World was created in 7 of God days, and as it says in the Bible, one breath of God can take a thousand of our years.)

How did Adam and Eve come to be in the first place? Were they born? Did they come from Spirit? How did the earth get populated with different races? Is Adam a name of a person? What does Adam really mean?

Incest is abhorrent to us because of the disasterous consequences of it. It has also been against most laws for thousands of years. We are therefore conditioned to recoil from it.
However, conditions were different in the earliest days of the human race. They were closer to perfection and would be unlikely to have reproduced unhealthy offspring.
Also, there was no law against incest at the time, so no-one would have worried about it or thought anything about it.
It is possible that Cain's wife was either his sister or his neice. The Bible does indicate that the children of Adam and Eve included more than Cain, Able and Seth, who were their only named children. (Genesis 4:1,2 and 5:3,4)

If we assume the bible has been translated correctly, which it hasn't, then we would follow what we read to its natural conclusion. However, there are omissions and errors in the Bible based on the understanding of men (mankind in general).
Take for instance the argument that Jesus never married because it isn't mentioned - Jewish males would have got married at some time between the ages 15 and 25 under either Mosaic Law or by tradition.
What's written in the Bible must in essence be taken on faith.
