..some people go about life happy, or sad, or in-between. some pursue dreams, studying endlessly for that PhD. some cruise along contented, having already achieved what they want. some just live day by day, not liking it but unable to change it.

..so what kind of life do you lead?

Most of the scientology trap works on trance-like suggestion and hypnosis, but members aren't informed about it. I think this is wrong, and should be illegal? You?

"At almost every stage of hypnosis, there are parallels with scientology auditing. People who desire to be hypnotized, or are expecting to be hypnotized, more readily succumb to hypnotic processes. It is not necessary that a person expects to be hypnotized. The person may not be aware of the meaning of hypnosis or of what is involved in it. It is found that the subject will readily go into hypnosis, even though he may be unaware of the technical name of the treatment he is receiving or the fact that he is, or is about to be, in hypnosis."

You will have to read the verses in order to know what I am referring to. Too long to post here.
As for Peter, there is no historical record of peter being chraged with murder, or conspiaracy to commit murder, or man slaughter. even though at that time Romans and Jews would have looked upon this incident with as much suspicion as it would be today. And lots of people knew they were 'in on it' acts 5:11

My Chinese students have told me that the foreigners originally defined Asian countries as being of lower importance, and hence catogorised them with the suffix "ese".

Examples of this area, Chinese, Japanese and Vienamese. Is there any truth in this, and if there is, who exactly was it that did the defining?

Long time back, in the age of the first humans, the most intelligent ones created a cult and eventually disputes arose and they split up taking their followers and changing the rules as they wished. And now that is what people follow as so called religions...well it's just a doubt I had...?

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: {and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shall loosed on earth sahll be loosed in heaven.} I don't know what would be bound on earth and then bound heaven, or loosed on earth and loosed in heave?

... I have been told in the past, by pastors and other Christians, that if you stray from God or "backslide", God will forgive you and take you back if you want to return to Him. But it states in Hebrews 6:4-6 the following: "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace." ..... SO..... which is it? Am I misinterpreting this verse? Will the Lord take you back if you have strayed from Him and ask His forgiveness, or are you damned for all eternity if you stray from Him even once?

This has been a debatable issue since the time of Paul. I am posting this as an interesting point of theology to consider; theologians still have differing opinions to this day.

I just happened to be reading Mathew 10 in response to a question by another asker and stumbled across this.. hoping somebody could explain.

Mathew 10:38 attributes Jesus as saying

"He who doesn't take his cross and follow after me, isn't worthy of me."

Correct me if i am wrong but didn't the concept of the cross come from the crucifixion. i.e why does Jesus command people to "carry" the cross when he wasn't crucified yet..

I usually have my quiet time and read the Word each night before I go to bed. But I feel bad because I feel like I should be having it in the mornings before I start my day. Or even both. Do you think it matters what time of day it is? Part of me thinks that it doesn't matter what time of day it is, as long as I'm setting some time aside for God each day. But then the other part of me thinks that I should be having my quiet time and reading the Word in the mornings, before I start my day. What do you think?
