Too bad they all didn't do that, then we might not have such a problem.

Chariots of the gods (was god an astronaut)?

was written by Erich Von Daniken back in 1968.

Ive read it and it gives a lot of insight into our possible past including the roots of the bible.

But does anyone beleive in the alien thing it seems a step to far for me. Though i do have an open mind on such issues.

What do you all think???????

I think that many people continue to believe in a god because it gives them comfort; it’s an emotional response. It allows them to pray to their god and think that they’re actually accomplishing something. It gives them feelings of structure and meaning in their lives, and makes them feel connected. It helps remove the fear of death and nonexistence that most of us experience. Belief in the Christian god helps remove people’s fear of Christian hell that has been pounded into their minds. Belief in a god also makes the world more black and white, less confusing, and easier to deal with. But, is this any actual proof for the existence of a god? Is comfort a good indicator of the truth of external reality? I don’t think that it is. George Bernard Shaw said it best. “The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.”

I apologize if the question sounds flippant, but I am sincere. If the process of evolution did not exist, then the vaccines developed 50 years ago should still be sufficient. However, they are not because flu viruses develop resistance and mutate into new species that did not exist 50 years ago. Scientists can trace the chain from the new species back to the old ones, thereby proving the evolutionary process.

However, if the evolutionary process does not exist, then why become vaccinated more than once?

In Deuteronomy 18, Moses stated that God told him: “I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19).1
From these verses we conclude that the prophet in this prophecy must have the following three characteristics:

1) That he will be like Moses.

2) That he will come from the brothers of the Israelites

3) That God will put His words in to the mouth of this prophet and that he will declare what God commands him.

Many religionists say that evolution can't explain love, that we need a god as the source for love.
Evolution actually explains love very simply. In primitive, hunter/gatherer societies it is strongly advantageous to have a couple stay together to raise their children. It's advantageous even in modern societies, altho not as critically. Without love a couple is less likely to stay together. Without love they would be far less likely to keep raising their children when things are difficult. With love, children are more likely to be loving themselves — to others and eventually to their own children. Love also helps bind extended families and friends. Any humans who didn't love were less likely to have descendents. Any humans who did love were more likely to have descendents. Evolution has programmed us for love.

Consider this: An alien intelligent species in no way resembling the human species exists on another world, all created by God.

This species has no concept of murder, theft, gossip, adultery, jealousy, envy, and homosexuality. They also have no concept of justification, faith, forgiveness, confession and sacrifice. How would human Christians save them without these concepts having been experienced, let alone imagined?

When someone has an abortion in the first trimester does the fetus have a soul? I heard psychic Sylvia Browne say that the fetus would not get their soul until the time of birth coming into the world alive. So if you abort the fetus is there not a soul????I am trying to find out as I had an abortion years ago but the horror of what I did just hit me yesterday for some reason. I went on the internet to look at pictures of aborted fetuses and I now hate myself and can't believe I did that. The guilt is killing me. I am trying to find my way back to christ as I have been away from him for a long time and was fascinated with psychic stuff and paranormal stuff. Please pray that I find my way back to him and yes I know that I am horrible for what I did to that baby so you don't have to tell me, I know.

Many people presume that the snake was the devil in the garden of Eden, but in Genesis it only says the snake was the craftiest of the wild animals created, not that one snake was being used by the devil. Why would the snake be punished if it was just being used. The devil's name isn't even stated until much later in the old testament. After the snake, there is no explicit mention of a third party tempting people to do bad things in the books of Moses. Original sin and temptation are later concepts that are more fully stated in the new testament.

"In order to enter the kingdom of heaven you must accept Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour."

Why is this evil? Because is creates the idea that one group (Christians) are superior to non-christians. After all, if your neighbor isn't going to heaven but you are, obviously, you're superior. When a group believes that they're superior, it leads to horrible things. This attitude of superiority is the root cause for many of the evils of our history, Conquistadors, Manifest destiny, slavery, Spanish inquisition, the Nazi's, the Crusades, how Arab world wants the Israelis wiped of the map because they're not worthy of being the keepers of the holy land. Islam and Judaism have their own beliefs that supposedly elevate them above everyone else too, so this is not just a Christian problem.

That statement creates division not unification. It creates hate, not love. Is this what you think religion should do?

What are your thoughts on this? Please no huge lists of bible quotes.

male parts should be. It is all anyone is concerned with. They say that money is the root of all evil. I think it is sex.
Luke 20:34 says that world or the next world or the resurrection or heaven there will be none. He gave us those feelings to populate the earth. OK it is done. So he can take that away just as easy.
Then it would be repulsive to us. Think of the harm it has caused?
the pain of disloyalty. rejection, child sex to rape.
it is the Reason Satan sinned in the first place Gen 6:
Even corrupted the angels that sinned Jude 6,7
Just think of the peace on earth if that was taken away.
