robync, I was not trying to provoke anyone. I was truly curious about this. It's obvious how much the people who see visions of the Virgin Mary love her, so I had no bad intentions here. From the answers so far it doesn't seem like anyone thought I was trying to be hurtful. So that's good.

The human mind sees order where there is disorder. It tries to see patterns out of randomness.
The woman who found this piece of chocolate is very familiar with images of the Virgin mary, so she is able to see the image of the Virgin Mary in this piece of chocolate.
I do not think that this is some miracle or some message from teh Virgin Mary, but I do not criticize this woman for her love and devotion to Mary.

Wow that is a crazy story. but you know there are a lot of stories like that out there people finding religious images in food, and other odd places. A lot of it is probably fake but anything is possible. If you believe enough in something things can happen without a lot of effort. I mean look at the stigmata some people have been proven to have experienced those, maybe some things really are touched by god. who knows? Awesome question by the way.

No religion bashing but they're always bragging about virgin appearing on anything. The other day my friend was cleaning his backyard and when he lifted a wheel barrow off the ground he told me "come look at this, the catholics would be saying this is virgin mary" and in fact it sort of had the shape of it but that's just a shape that can form on anything...

It could be. I've seen it and I've seen others. I even have pictures published on my website that show a veiled woman, and an angel.
Some people will see it and others won't. As a gnostic, I believe these appear to those who will accept it as a loving reminder that we are all divine children of a Divine Spirit or of Divine Parents. It is a symbol of hope for a return to an understanding of our origin and an opportunity to change our perspective on this world and how we deal with it.
Accept it for what you believe it or need it to be.

People always see the Virgin. No one ever sees another diety, do they?
I remember when people lit candles and worshipped that smudge under the bridge, that freezer at the grocery store and that splat on the highway. Anything that drips or melts tends to have that rounded top and elongated shape.

I'm sorry, but in this instance, I don't see it. It looks like an owl to me. As far as other visions go, I honestly think that they are a coincidence. That does not diminish their importance to people, though. Different people need different things to awaken their need for God. If a piece of chocolate does it for you, then God bless you. I'm Episcopalian, by the way.

that's crazy I love Mary but think praying and/or worshipping her isn't what she wants since she's not God and God gave her an awesome responsibility to raise His Son on earth. She's like a prophet, extraordinary and God's chosen for a specific task.

I think it is silly, God is not going to send her immage to some person in candy.
It is either a 1 in million strange thing, or someone did it,a nd are faking it.
God can come to us in many ways, but in candy, nahhhh

I'd love to see the look on Father Flannagan's face when I tell him I just ate the Virgin Mary. Does it come in crispy rice?

My dog dropped a load in the yard and when I called the lawn guy over to clean it up, he fell to his knees and started waving his arms in front of his chest while mumbling all kinds of foreign crap. Next thing you know, I got a line of down the street of people my neighborhood association doesn't want around after dark. They are all wailing and passing out once they see the "miracle in the poop pile". They even sheltered it the next day and misted it with water to keep it fresh. Finally after three days it dried up and they went away. Now I have to pay to clean up the mess they made and all my neighbors hate me for allowing it, like I had a choice.
